BIANOWSKY, Elmer Nick

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Elmer Nick Bianowsky. Elmer put up a strong fight, but lost his battle to cancer. Elmer was born on July 05, 1931 and passed away on February 14, 2014 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC. Elmer was born and raised in Drumheller, Alberta with his parents and younger brother, Norman. Elmer was the third child of four boys born to Sophia and Anthony Bianowsky. His two older brothers, Peter and Ernie died at birth. Elmer lived in Drumheller until he moved to Calgary to work for Reimer’s Trucking Company as a truck driver, where he later became their mechanic. Dad loved to work on his vehicles and loved to collect them. He moved to Fanny Bay, BC in 1986 from his home in Calgary to start his retirement. Dad was well known for his love of animals. Our dad would take any stray animal and make sure it found a home. He was always bringing dogs home for us kids. Elmer is predeceased by his mother and father Sophia and Anthony Bianowsky and his younger brother Norman Bianowsky. He is survived by his wife Fern Bianowsky, his first wife Helen Bianowsky, his children; Mary Thompson (Brad), Ken Bianowsky (Nancy), Gary Bianowsky, Glenn Bianowsky (Cindy), Ron Bianowsky (Joanne) and Brenda Fournier (Dave) and his stepchildren; Alan Senior (Leila), Karen Senior, and Randy Senior (Kim), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many great friends. Our dad loved his family and the gatherings we would have. He was always the life of the party with his stories and his music when he would play his accordion. Our dad was always larger than life and lived his life to the fullest. It is sad to say “Farewell” to Elmer, but he will be greeted by his family to continue his adventure. We love you, and will rejoice when we meet again. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 6, 2014 in Drumheller, AB. Further details will be posted at a later date.
