LAPHAM, Robert (Bob) Thomas John
August 30, 1928 - January 10, 2014
Bob was born August 30, 1928 in Frome, Somerset, England and passed away January 10, 2014 in Red Deer, Alberta. He is survived by; his loving wife, Doris, of 60 years, four children: Bill (Heather, deceased), Paul (Karen), Janette (Laur), Carol (Onil), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his brother Michael (in England). Bob was employed as a correctional officer at the Drumheller Penitentiary for 18 years and was occasionally referred to as “Father Bob”. He was a proud member of the Legion both in England and in Drumheller. Bob was retired for the last 20 years and loved camping, travelling to England and Mexico, and found comfort in his “furry friend” Febe. At Bob’s request, there will be a celebration of life on January 18, 2014 downstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion, from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions in honor of Bob may be made to Drumheller Continuing Care 351-9th Street NW Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y1 (Residents Fund).
