GORDON, Scott Douglas
December 31, 1969 - October 25, 2013
With deep sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Scott Douglas Gordon at his home in Surrey, BC, due to heart failure. Scott was raised on the family farm near Carbon, AB. Always willing to lend a hand, he proved himself a worthy asset to the daily operations. He participated in the 4H program and enjoyed riding his dirt bike as well as playing minor hockey in Beiseker. It wasn’t long before he developed an interest in mechanics and could often be found tinkering on one of his cars or helping Dad perform repairs on some piece of machinery. Scott attended Carbon School in his elementary years and went on to graduate from Acme High School in 1987, before moving to Drumheller to seek full time employment, which he found at the Ralston Plastic Factory. He remained there for several years before being drawn to the west coast, God’s country as he called it. Taking up residence in Abbotsford, BC, he would meet his future wife, Denise Anthony. They married in 1994. Scott adored her daughter, Brooke, and adopted her as his own before fathering twin boys, Kyle and James. He continued the remainder of his career as a finishing carpenter in the lower mainland and Kelowna area. Scott was a hard worker who took pride in his accomplishments and would often send pictures of his latest work back home. He had a big heart and challenged life head on through any hardship that may stand in his way of providing for his loved ones. Scott was predeceased by his father Jack in 2010. Scott leaves to mourn his mother Bonnie of Drumheller, AB, his wife Denise, daughter Brooke, grandson Zachary, sons James and Kyle of Abbotsford, BC, brothers Colin (Treena), of Blackfalds, AB and James (Amanda), of Drumheller, AB, nephews Joel, Anthony, Caleb and niece Paige, aunt Dixie (Ken) McLeod of Delta, BC and countless cousins, friends and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Knox United Church, 195 3rd Ave E., Drumheller, AB., with Reverend Jean Udall officiating.
