Marie Stroh (nee Bergos), beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and friend passed away peacefully in Calgary on October 18, 2013 at the age of 91. Marie’s vibrance and zest for life was an inspiration for everyone whose lives she touched.  Her memory will always be treasured by her sisters Jeanne of Edmonton and Margaret of Kamloops, her brother Alex (Dorothy) of Drumheller, sister-in-law Marjorie of Edmonton and many nieces, nephews and friends. Marie is predeceased by her husband, Michael, sister Barbara and brothers Donald and Peter. Marie was born on June 2, 1922 in Calgary and grew up on a farm in the Orkney area with her mother and six siblings. Marie was a CWAC during World War II from 1942 to 1945 followed by a 32 year long career with Zellers including 20 years as Personnel Operations Manager in Calgary. She loved to travel and had a passion for bowling and played on a team that won the Dominion championships in 1964. Special thanks to Corrine, Tweet, Jim, Brent and  the many neighbours and friends for their dedication and support. Marie’s spirit will live on with us as we tend our gardens, bowl, visit with friends, and watch sports.
