Basil (Blaze) Samuel Dillman of Drumheller, Alberta, passed away peacefully October 1, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Blaze was born on February 17, 1923 in Oldham, Halifax N.S. to Fairbanks and Margaret Dillman. He was a young man when he moved out west; he drove logging trucks and worked in the mines until he started his taxi business in 1975 until his retirement in 1988. He is predeceased by his; parents Fairbanks and Margaret, sisters; Evelyn and Violet and sons Kirk and Greg Gardner. He is survived by; his wife Val of 37 years, sisters: Hazel, Jean, June, brother Wilford of Nova Scotia, daughters Linda (Dennis), of B.C., Leann Gardner of Winnipeg Manitoba, Corrine Gardner of Medicine Hat, Alberta, grandchildren: Jennifer, Tyler, Kimberly , Justin, Brittany, Stephanie, as well as Great Grandchildren : Kayla, Cale and Nevaeh. A Service of Remembrance was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Courtney-Winters Funeral Home. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements (403 823 2666).
