Albert passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Tuesday, October 1st.   He leaves to mourn his children:  Dave Trentham (Marilyn), Harriet Callaghan, Gerry Braunberger (Gwen), Marion Pierce and Marjorie McNeill (Ron); his much loved grandchildren, Mike, Brad, Jeff (Debbie), Jennifer (Travis), Jolynn (Brian), Rob, Amanda (Ted), Darcy (Shawna),Trisha, Dana (Sean), Candace (Craig), Marie and Scott and his precious great grandchildren Sydney, Matthew, Tyler, Thomas, Emma, Megan, Braeden, Abbigayle, Kody, Quentin, Bryce, Kiana, Kyle, Jake, Lucas, Kate, Ella and John. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Marjorie, and brothers Frank and Bob as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  Albert was predeceased by his first wife Mildred and subsequently married Margaret Trentham who passed away in 2010.  He was also predeceased by his parents Harry and Annie, brother Alfred and twin brother Harold.  Al was born at home in Ghost Pine Creek on June 25, 1921, 20 minutes ahead of his twin brother Harold.  They were the second oldest of six children.  His father Harry operated the Trentham mine #817 in Orkney.  Al attended Orkney School where he began his lifelong love of sports including baseball, hockey and soccer. Al and his brothers, Alfred and Frank opened a gas station selling gas by pump and by bulk delivery to farmers.   He also trucked a lot of grain and coal. He married Mildred Watt in Dauphin, Manitoba in 1943.  Al and Millie lived in the Orkney district and raised two children David and Harriet.   He continued in his trucking business and also farmed in the area beginning in 1947.  It was at this time that he learned the game of curling which was to become a lasting passion.  When Al married Margaret they lived and farmed in the Morrin area.  After retirement they continued to live on the farm, until they moved to the Sunshine Lodge in 2005.  Al loved to be at home on the farm.  His life revolved around the seasons of planting and harvesting with spring being his favorite time of the year.  He enjoyed visiting, playing cards with family and friends and watching his Cincinnati Reds as well as the Alberta curling teams.  A Memorial Service will be held at the Morrin Community Hall on Saturday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.
