On September 29th, 2013, Jane Sommerville died in her sleep at the age of 92. Jane passed calmly and quietly, just as she had lived. Jane was born Jane Jones on September 1st, 1921, at Ponoka, Alberta. Her family moved to Calgary early in her life, and that is where Jane attended school. She married Ronald Sommerville on July 31st, 1953, and they lived for many years on the Sommerville farm in the Orkney/Ghost Pine district. Jane is survived by sons Kevin, Hugh, John, and George, and by her sister Carol McGrath, as well as grandchildren Jenna Palmer and Kalin Sommerville, Kendra and Michael Sommerville, Chandra Schonken and Brett Sommerville, and great grandchildren Emma, Emily, Max, Keegan, and Calleigh. Funeral services will be held at St. Magloire’s Anglican Church in Drumheller at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 4th with The Reverend Larry Keddie officiating.
