MORROW Donna Frances

MORROW, Donna Frances
May 13, 1936 – July 10, 2013

It is with great heartache that the family announces the passing of our beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma, Donna Frances Morrow (nee: Campbell), on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, in Drumheller, Alberta, at the age of 77. Donna was born on Wednesday, May 13, 1936, in Calgary, Alberta. She resided there until her mom’s untimely passing in 1948, upon which she moved to Michichi to live with her grandparents. Attending school there, she dreamed of continuing on with her education in Secretarial School, but fate had different plans. Michichi is where Donna met a handsome young man, and the Love of her Life, Kenneth James Morrow. After a brief courtship, the two lovebirds were married on October 24, 1953. The couple lived all around Michichi until 1965, when they moved to their Forever Home, the family affectionately calls “The Farm”. This is where Donna lived the rest of her days, raising her kids, gardening, and helping Ken out with the cattle and farming.  Although being a mom of four kept her on her toes, she still managed to devote time to the United Church, Community Association, and the Home and School Association. Donna was also a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 21 years, serving on many levels of the Executive. She was a most important part of the Famous “Legion Fish Night”, as she is the holder of the Secret Batter Recipe! Mom was a very competitive curler, and loved to go to bonspiels all over the country. Although she always wanted to win, what she enjoyed most was the socializing and meeting new friends wherever she went. In her later years, if there was a curling game on, you could bet Grandma would be watching it no matter what! Donna adored nothing more than being with her ever growing family, whether it be gathering around her, as she played her organ, having sing-a-longs, or just sitting around the table having a delicious meal, having great chats and laughs. Grandma will be remembered for her selfless ways, one-of-a-kind smile, and her love for family and friends. Donna is survived by Ken, her loving husband of 59 years, her four children, Clifford Morrow, Patricia (Dennis) Burrows, Gregory Morrow, and Melanie Thom, her 8 grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Jensen, Stacey (Joe) Dyck, Trevor (Danielle) Burrows, Crystal (Shane) Tyson, Ryan (Mindy) Morrow, Kurtis (Amanda) Morrow, Kalie Thom and Rhean Thom, and her 14 great grandchildren. Also mourning are her brothers, Bob (Murdeanne) Mazury, John (Dorothy) Mazury, and her sister, June (Dave) Scott, and one sister-in-law, Ada Morrow. She was predeceased by her mother, Eileen, her father, John Mazury, stepmother, Hazel Mazury, special Auntie June Todd, and brother-in-law, Don Morrow. A celebration of Donna’s life was held at the Badlands Community Facility on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Harold Hunter officiating. Pallbearers were Trevor Burrows, Ryan Morrow, Kurtis Morrow, Shane Tyson, Michelle Jensen and Kalie Thom, with Honarary Pallbearers being Crystal Tyson, Stacey Dyck, Rhean Thom, and all of her great grandchildren.
