CESAR (nee Kelly) Shannon Dawn

CESAR (nee Kelly), Shannon Dawn
September 18, 1958 - February 14, 2013

It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shannon Dawn Cesar (nee Kelly). Shannon passed away on February 14, 2013 in Drumheller, Alberta. She was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on September 18, 1958.  She later moved with her family to reside in Wayne, Alberta. Shannon had fond memories of living on the acreage in Wayne, where she made many life-long friends. While living there, she spent summers helping her grandpa and grandma, Ralph and Flo Root, on the racetrack, caring for the horses. It was then that she developed her passion for horses and racing. Shannon attended school in Rosedale and Drumheller. One of the major highlights of Shannon’s youth was moving with her family to Norway, where her Father Carson worked. Shannon was a very organized and meticulous person, especially when it came to keeping up her home. She could make any place feel like home. Shannon had a beautiful heart and an unbelievable ability to care for others, always offering a helping hand where she could. Shannon was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, and friend. Shannon cherished her three children and her two grandchildren and was very proud of them. Shannon was predeceased by her mother, Lillian Kelly and her brother George Kelly. She leaves to mourn her husband, Randy Cesar; her daughter, Kevinee (Markus) Goodhope and their sons Tyree and Draiton; her daughter, Tasha Pentelchuk; her son, Nicholas Pentelchuk; her stepsons, Walter Cesar, Michael Cesar and Andrew Cesar and their families; her father, Carson (Donna) Kelly; her sister, Kim (Dean) Wapple; and Jean Cesar, her mother in-law. She also leaves to mourn sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Shannon’s faith in God sustained her and gave her strength throughout her life. He says, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  Psalms 46:10. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS or charity of choice. A time for remembering Shannon will be held Friday February 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Cretaceous Conference Center in the Jurassic Inn, at 1103 Highway 9 South, Drumheller.
