It is with saddened hearts we say goodbye to Eleanor Marie DeLeeuw who passed away peacefully at the Drumheller hospital on February 15, 2013, after a short illness. Eleanor was the only child of Hugh and Jean Owens born in Hanna, Alberta on October 17, 1923. She married her husband of 61 years, Arthur DeLeeuw, on October 29, 1952. They were blessed with 9 children. Eleanor was predeceased by her father Hugh Owens, mother Jean Harty, stepfather Roy Harty, 1 granddaughter Renee DeLeeuw and 1 grandson Brian Guest. She leaves to morn her loving husband Arthur DeLeeuw of Drumheller, son Brad (Alice) DeLeeuw of Drumheller, son Larry (Marion) DeLeeuw of Drumheller, daughter Lorette (Cal) Cameron of Brooks, daughter Alicia (John) Franks of Carbon, daughter Sheila (Lloyd) Kranzler of Carbon, son Alan (Fay) DeLeeuw of Hanna, son Bill (Rose) DeLeeuw of Michichi, daughter Jean (Jim) Clark of Drumheller and son Joe (Charlene) DeLeeuw of Drumheller, 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren along with numerous relatives and friends. Eleanor will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. May you rest in peace. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
