PLUMB, Dolores Whipple

(nee Mitchell)

November 2, 1919 - July 16, 2012

Dolores Whipple PLUMB (nee Mitchell) peacefully went to her heavenly home July 16, 2012. Born November 2, 1919 in Kamsack, SK, the middle child of five. She moved to Drumheller as an infant and never left. Whip met the love of her life at a ‘dance’ and in 1943 married Fred PLUMB with whom she shared 48 wonderful years. She was an active member of her bridge club, Good Tyme (dance) club, Kinettes, Drumheller Golf Club and Curling Club, and St. Magloire’s Guild. Being physically active was  very much a part of who she was and that gave our family a remarkable role model. We all loved and respected her so very much. She leaves to mourn Sharon and Alex Dyball, Trudy Plumb, grandchildren Heather Dyball, David (Willow) Dyball, Heidi (Alton) Gowen, great-grandchildren Connor, Alyssa, Kristin, Brynn and Ashtyn, and many nieces and nephews. Whip was predeceased by husband Fred, mother Sarah Mitchell, sisters Royal, Alverna, Shirley and brother Ben. A private family service will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Magloire’s Church (176 -2 St. SW, Drumheller T0J 0Y4), would be appreciated or a charity of your choice.
