Ruth Bonaguro of Drumheller, beloved wife of the late Elio (Nick) Bonaguro, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2011 at the age of 95 years. Ruth was born on August 7, 1916 in Lethbridge, Alberta to parents Andy and Rose Brown. She worked many jobs over the years, from a camp cook in her early years,  to working for Bob Trembecky (Star Mine), Big Country News, Dick’s Drugs and Riverside Value Drug Mart, among others. Mom enjoyed baking, especially at Christmas time. In her later years she enjoyed “talk radio”, and cherished her Sunday talks with her granddaughter. Mom enjoyed watching sports on TV, though sometimes she would get a little too excited. Ruth Bonaguro is survived by her sons Wayne (Louise) Bonaguro of Calgary, and Art Bonaguro of Drumheller, grandchildren Veronica Bonaguro of Calgary, and Shawna Somerville of Calgary, sister Esther Hood of Winnipeg, brothers Gordon (Ellen) Brown of Hussar, and Doug (Marion) Brown of Hussar, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her loving husband, Ruth Bonaguro was predeceased by her parents Andy and Rose Brown, brothers Cam, Don, Tom and Hugh, and sisters Jessie, Lila, and Peggy. A service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 178 3rd Street West, Drumheller, with Father Mario Basque officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Mom’s memory.
