GRAY, Glenn Leigh

GRAY, Glenn Leigh
December 7, 1924 - September 5, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Leigh Gray on September 5, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Glenn was born in Regina, SK,  lived in  Ontario for a number of years, but always considered Edmonton “home”, although he lived many years in Drumheller. Over the years he owned and operated several businesses, including concrete pipe manufacturing, travel agencies, catering services, and in Drumheller special advertising sales. Glenn served in many positions with the city of Edmonton and with various sports organizations in the province of Alberta. He was greatly honoured to be inducted in recent years to the Alberta Golf Hall of Fame and the City of Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame. Sports (and Junior Sports) played a huge part in Glenn’s life and he excelled particularly in golf and curling. Glenn is survived by his wife Bette, daughter Sharon Humford (Doug) of Edmonton, sons Brent Gray  (Christini) of Trail, B.C., Glenn Jr. of Edmonton, half sister Donna MacMorhand  of Vancouver. Granddaughters Brandy and Cassie as well as extended family and friends. By request, there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if  friends desire memorial tributes may be made to the Junior Sports program of your choice.
