Fundraising site set up for former Wildrose staffers

Lisa Hansen-Zacharuk is spearheading a campaign to support some of the Wildrose Party staff members who lost their jobs as a result of the shake up earlier this week.
On Wednesday afternoon nine Wildrose MLAs crossed the floor of the Legislature including Bruce Rowe, MLA for Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills and Jason Hale of Strathmore- Brooks and leader Danielle Smith.
One of consequences of this was that almost half the staff were laid off less than two weeks before Christmas.
To support these former staffers, Hansen-Zacharuk starters Gofundme page, a crowd sourcing fundraising site, to help them out financially.
"This has been a venture in showcasing the Albertan spirit," she told the Mail. "It has been successful in uniting the left and the right to do what's right."
She put the site up Thursday and within an hour it has raised $1,000. By Friday night it topped $15,000. It now has a stated goal of $20,000.
