Jungling: Anna

Anna Jungling of Drumheller passed away peacefully in the Drumheller Hospital on April 29. 2008 at the age of ninety-two. Anna was born in Mariental, Russia on November 16, 1915, one of ten children born to Anna and Franz Isaac. The family emigrated to Canada in 1926 settling in Alberta. Anna married Raymond Jungling of the Orkney district on April 30, 1938. The two lived on the family farm in Orkney until Ray’s death in 1989.  After Ray’s death, Anna moved to a house in Drumheller where she was able to finally indulge in her passion for flower gardening. Her yard was a showcase. Anna was a talented and creative homemaker and artist. She loved to cook, especially bake. Her breads, pies, cake and cookies were wonderful and she was kind enough to share them with friends, neighbors and family. Her gooseberry pies were especially prized by her children and grandchildren. Anna was an excellent seamstress often designing the clothes she made for her daughters. Everyone in the family was a grateful recipient of her beautiful patchwork quilts. In fact there were not many artistic endeavors that she did not try her hand at. Anna was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1989, grandson Jamie in 1981 and son-in-law Grant Potter in 2004. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Wayne) Corbett of Saskatoon, Margot of Calgary and Debra (Dave Carter) of Drumheller, two grandsons, Myles Corbett of Edmonton and Joel (Helen Perry) Corbett of Saskatoon, and five great-grandchildren, Kevin, Mitchell, Kristen, Tayler, and Noah. She is also survived by two brothers, George (Marguerite) Isaac of Strathmore and John (Olga) of Victoria, B.C. and sister Mary of England. At Anna’s request there will be a private family interment of cremains and graveside service at Sarcee Butte Cemetery at a later date. Anna’s family would like to especially thank Dr. Graham and the staff of the long-term acute care wing for the loving care and attention that Mom received over the last month while she was in the hospital. The family requests that any memorial donations be  made to the Palliative Care or long-term acute care wing of the Drumheller Hospital.
