Bell: Shirley Annette December 5, 1933 - February 14, 2008
Shirley Bell, long term resident of Carbon passed away after a brief courageous battle with cancer at the Drumheller Regional Health Complex at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her children; Jim (Cheryl) Bell of Calgary, Linda (Kevin) Farmer of Drumheller, three grandchildren; Michael, Lonnie and Stacey and one brother; Murray (Marie) Saunders of Bowden, as well as many numerous in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley is pre-deceased by her parents; husband George Bell, and special friend Earl Ziegler. The family would like to invite all of her friends and loved ones to join us at Carbon Community Centre on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Harold Hunter officiating. Dixon: Robin (Rob) August 6, 1953 - February 12, 2008
Rob Dixon formerly of Carbon, Alberta passed away at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rob was born and raised in Carbon, Alberta and moved to Calgary in 2006. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice, son, Tyler and step son Nathan; his sister and brother-in-law Anne and Stan Stewart of Calgary and brother, Roy Dixon of Carbon, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services were held from the Carbon United Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Gordon Hunter officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be sent to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Centre (1331-29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2). OHLHAUSER: Ron: July 17, 1950 - February 12, 2008
Mr. Ronald “Ron” Wallace Ohlhauser of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Judy
Ohlhauser, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the age of 57 years.
Born and raised in Carbon, Alberta, he attended school in Carbon and
Drumheller, played hockey in Three Hills and baseball in Beiseker. Ron
completed Petroleum Technology at SAIT and then worked in the oil and gas
industry. He worked for Norcen for over twenty years before beginning his
own consulting company, Pfain Consulting in Coaldale, Alberta. Throughout
these years he made many friends through baseball, curling, golf and hockey.
He will always be remembered by all of his friends for his quick sense of
humor and his love for practical jokes. Ron is survived by his wife Judy;
daughters Crystal and Kalyn; son Craig; mother Eileen Ohlhauser of Carbon,
sisters Tammy (Ben) Vornbrock and family, Donna (Bob) Tucker and family all
of Calgary; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bill and Myrtle Kuzio of Drayton
Valley; brother-in-law Gale (Rose) Kuzio and family of Drayton Valley; as
well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Roman
three years to the day. The family would like to thank the staff of St.
Michael’s Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Centre for their sincere care
and companionship. As requested by Ron, a service will not be held; an
interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 724 – 13 Street

PADRTA: Lillian Agnes 1937 – 2008
Lillian Padrta passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary on February 12, 2008 at the age of 70 years. She is survived by her children, Gerald (Marta) Padrta, Monica Padrta, and John Padrta, all of Calgary; and her brother William (Mary) Danchek. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Joseph; daughter Joyce; brother John; sister Veronica; and parents John and Susan Padrta. Lillian’s parents immigrated to Canada from Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Drumheller Cemetery. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made in Lillian’s name to a charity of choice.
