AMUNDSON: Victoria Genevieve   (nee ALTHOUSE)

On Sunday, November 11, 2007 Vickie passed away suddenly at the Drumheller Hospital at the age of 85 years. She will be sadly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter Betty (Bernie Carroll) and son Allan (Shirley), grandchildren Trudi (Tommi Bruce), David Tyndale (Tara), Vanessa Carroll, Jason (Shana) and Jaime (Duane Phoenix). Vickie was born in Yorkton, Sask. and grew up in Canora, Sask with her family. Vickie was very involved in Oscar’s career in road construction. If they needed a cook or a timekeeper in the camps, they could always count on Vickie for assistance. The men were glad to see her in the kitchen because she was such a good cook. In later years Oscar and Vickie became snowbirds and spent several months each year enjoying the warmer climate offered by the Arizona sun. She loved to get out in her yard and work in the dirt. Gardening was one of her favourite pastimes and her yard work was admired by many. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
