DAUBERT: Brenda Carol (Breadner)  July 27, 1955 - December 27, 2006

Brenda passed away at the Drumheller Health Centre on December 27, 2006 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Brenda is peacefully at rest. Brenda will be sadly missed by step father Adrian Armstrong and family of Tisdale, SK; husband Bryan and their children Tamara (Aaron Lang), Jessica, Madison and Brandon, Traci Breadner (Dave), Jazlyn and Morgan, Vicki (Scott) Klassen, Ty and Cobie of Airdrie, AB, Darren Daubert of Beiseker, AB; brothers and sisters, Craig Anderson and family of Edmonton, AB, Vilda (Gene) Gladney and family of Champagne, Illinois, Jan (Don) Fooks and family of Drumheller, AB, Brett (Sharon) and family of Edmonton, AB, Dale Anderson and family of Calgary, AB, Cheryl Patrosh (Miles) and family of Drumheller, Wendy Gagnon (Chris) and family of Melfort, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins across western Canada. As well as her very special adopted mom Joan Cote of Drumheller, Bill Breadner and family of Nipawin, SK.  Brenda’s daughters and grandchildren were the light of her life. Her favourite things in her short life were a huge passion for reading, camping, bean bags and she was becoming really fond of riding quads and golfing. Brenda was born July 27, 1955 and was raised in Tisdale, SK to the late Helen and Jerry Anderson, where Brenda resided for several years before moving to Drumheller in 1987. She worked at the Royal Tyrrell Museum for approximately five years. Bryan and Brenda then opened the Drumheller Shell Gas Bar and operated it for seven years. Brenda then returned to the museum for a couple of years in the gift shop. She was then persuaded to work with family at Drumheller Equipment.

Brenda was predeceased by both parents, nephew Kurtis, granddaughter Jayden and sister-in-law Cricket. A memorial/funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 2 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church at 195-3rd Ave. East in Drumheller, AB. There will be no interment. In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation in the name of Brenda be made to the Drumheller Health Centre. “Brenda left us far too soon!” - Bren’s friends

MOFFAT: Barry Dean  April 28, 1945 - January 1, 2007

“Bearcat” passed away suddenly on January 1, 2007 at the Drumheller Health Centre. He is now reunited with his father John Moffat. He will be sadly
missed by his wife of 37 years, Flo Moffat and his best bud “Chopper”. He leaves to mourn his three daughters, Tammy (Desmond) Marshall, Kimberly Moffat, and Jody (Ryan) Poland; three grandchildren, Alex, Madison, and Michael. He is survived by his mother Doreen Moffat and one brother Denton (Binkey) Moffat, all from Armstrong, B.C.

Barry was born April 28, 1945 in Bassano, AB and raised in Hussar. He started his career with Canadian Utilities as a laborer in 1966 and was promoted that same year to lineman and in 1967 he transferred to Peace River, AB. He became a serviceman in 1969. In 1977 he transferred to Drumheller where he completed his career with the same company, currently known as ATCO Electric. Barry retired in 2001 after 35 years of service with ATCO Electric. Retirement gave him the freedom to enjoy life the way he chose. His days were spent on long scenic drives with his bud “Chopper”, camping with his friends and family, and taking long leisurely naps.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Barry to the STARS Foundation, Box 570, Calgary, AB, T2E 9Z9.

SHAMON: Frances G.  October 10, 1929 - January 2, 2007

Frances passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Regional Hospital at the age of 77. She was born in Frelighsburg, Quebec (near Sherbrooke), a daughter for John and Eva Daignault. At the age of 5 months the family moved to a farm in Southern Alberta and then later to Cranbrook, BC. This is where she met Leo and they were married on June 19, 1952. Frances and Leo were blessed with two daughters Debbie and Lynn who were born in Cranbrook, BC. They later moved to Revelstoke, BC where Leo was employed with CP Telecommunications. In 1973 they moved to Drumheller, AB and have remained there since. Frances was a devoted homemaker and was also a partner with her husband Leo in the janitorial business. She enjoyed music, gathering with friends, going for walks and bike rides with her immediate family as well as having an excellent sense of humor. Her devotion to her faith was unlimited

Frances will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 54 ½ years, Leo, her daughters, Debbie and family, Lynn (David) Meeres and family of Munson, AB; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three brothers, Fred and John Daignault and their families in Cranbrook, BC and Hector Daignault and family from Calgary and area. Frances was predeceased by her parents in 1977 who resided in Drumheller, sister Theresa and three brothers; Paul, Art and Armand.

A Service of Remembrance was held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mr. Richard Wheeler officiated.
