WALDRON:
Phyllis
It is with great
sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Waldron on December 2, 2007
with her family at her side at Drumheller Health Care Centre, after a lengthy
illness. Phyllis will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Lyn Gallant and
son in law Pat Gallant, her grandchildren Stacey (Kelly), Darcy, Amanda
(Chris), great-grandsons Justin, Kody, and Harley, as well as her brother
Gordon Hunt and her best friend and soul mate of many year Howard Paget, and
many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Phyllis was born
and raised in Carbon. She moved to Swalwell in March 1948 where she farmed for
many years. She moved to Carbon with Howard in May of 1978 and kept the farm
until her passing.
Mom’s
entertainment and fun was to frequently go to the Carbon Valley Hotel Tavern
to have a “Quiet Beer” and play her 7’s Wild, at which we all agree she was
very lucky. She lived life to the fullest and fought long and hard without
ever a complaint.
She was
predeceased by her husband Bill Waldron in July 1980. Her parents Dorothy and
Harry Hunt, sisters Hazel Nadasde, Millie Poole and brothers Buster Hunt, Jim
Hunt and Howard Hunt.
The family would
like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the Doctors and
staff at both Three Hills and Drumheller Care Centres for the outstanding care
given over the last few years. In memory of Phyllis a blue bulb will be lit
on the Tree of Hope at the Drumheller Health Centre December 9 at 7:00 PM.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so Friday, December 7, 2007 from
12:30 – 2:00 PM at Carbon Community Centre, funeral to follow there
immediately after, graveside service to follow at Swalwell Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers donations in memory of Phyllis can be made to the Alberta
Children’s Hospital, Endocrinology Clinic (2888 Shaganappi Trail NW, Calgary,
