TRENTHAM: Harold 1921 - 2007
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing
of our “Poppa” Harold on March 29, 2007. We know he is now at Grandma Audrey’s
side.
Harold was born June 25, 1921 in the Orkney District. At the age of 13 he headed off to work for PJ Rock. Poppa had hours of stories he would share about his time at the Rock Farm, and always spoke so highly of Aunty May. On July 21, 1943, Harold and Audrey were married. They eventually moved to ACB Grenville’s farm in the Sunbeam District. Harold enjoyed raising livestock and spent 50 years in the Purebred Sheep Business and traveled extensively throughout North America. Poppa was a big push behind the Springbank Sheep 4-H Club. Poppa loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. As his grandchildren were growing up he made a big hockey rink in the yard every year, it was a highlight for everyone. Poppa has always been known for never being late.
Poppa will be dearly missed by his children, son Dick and daughter-in-law Marg, son Moe, daughter Laura and son –in-law Mike, his grandchildren; Cory (Dwayne), Shantel, Mitch, Brad (Robin), Rich, Audrey (Justin), and Vicki, great grandchildren; Caitlyn, Matt, Nevin, Nolia, and Emerson. He is also survived by his twin brother Al (Margaret), brother Frank (June), brother Robert (Terry) and sister Marj Grenville.
