COOK: Elizabeth (nee Zilli) July 1, 1934 - October
9, 2006
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother,
Betty Cook. These meager words cannot describe how much we love, honour, and
deeply miss her. Elizabeth will forever be remembered by her mother Katherine
Zilli; sons Robert and Jamie Cook, and daughter Catherine Todd (nee: Cook);
daughters-in-law Janice and Eleanor Cook; son-in-law David Todd; grandchildren
Elizabeth and Robert Todd; Jillian, Alex, and Caitlin Cook; Brendan and Reagan
Cook. She was predeceased by her loving father Luigi Zilli on July 29,
1979.Betty spent her entire life in the valley of Drumheller where she married
Robert Cook and raised three children. She was enraptured by the picturesque
valley with its changing seasons, and had an enduring and timeless love for her
husband Robert who passed away November 3, 1970. Mom worked at the Drumheller
Auxiliary and Nursing Home first as a secretary and later as its’ Administrator.
She retired at the age of sixty-two and spent the remainder of her life enjoying
life’s simple pleasures such as gardening, visiting with neighbors and friends,
watching hockey, caring for her dog and finally being the best mother and
grandmother in the world. We celebrate your life, Mom, as our hero. A Memorial
Service was held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Courtney-Winter’s
Funeral Chapel in Drumheller with Reverend Mac Jones presiding. An interment
followed at the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery where she was buried with her
beloved husband Robert Cook. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel was entrusted with
arrangements.
