BISWANGER: Pauline 1946 - 2006
Biswanger, Pauline Frances (Doyle) passed away suddenly and peacefully in her
sleep Sunday, March 26, 2006. Born May 8, 1946, Pauline grew up on a farm near
Drumheller, Alberta with her three siblings Norma, Janet, and Jim. She moved to
Calgary in the mid 60šs where she met and married Brian Biswanger, who passed
away after 33 years of happy marriage in 2000. Pauline is survived by her son
Stephen, daughter Terri, and mother-in-law Margaret. Additionally she is
survived by her grand puppy Bishop, her sisters Norma and Janet, their husbands
Bob and Lyle and also a brother Jim and his wife Shannan. Pauline is also
survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as a legion of friends she
considered to be family. After years of creating her own crafts she and Brian
decided to start the Festival of Crafts which they produced together for 17
years. After selling the Festival in 2003, PollieB (as she was affectionately
known) retired to travel the world, shop, laugh, live, love and enjoy life to
the fullest. PollieB found humor in all things. Her wit was one of her many
incredible qualities and it will be one of the things most missed about her. She
did not want a funeral, she wanted a party to celebrate her life so please join
us on Friday, March 31, 2006 in the 'Palomino D Room' at the Round Up
Centre, Stampede Park at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be forwarded to Paulinešs
family through

RASMUSSEN: Henry (Hank) 1929 - 2006
Henry Brogaard Rasmussen was born in Drumheller on January 18, 1929 and passed
away on March 17, 2006 at the Drumheller Hospital. He was the eldest son of
Evald and Anna Rasmussen. On April 3, 1952 he married Patricia Marie Church and
together they raised two daughters, Wendy Marie Rosgen and Adrienne Laura Peake.
Hank was the proud grandfather of one grandson, Bill Rosgen Jr., and three
granddaughters, Martina, Whitney and Michelle Peake. His two very special
sons-in-law spent endless hours helping to care for him in the hospital in the
last six weeks. Both remember him as a good friend. Hank is also survived by his
brother Paul Rasmussen and his wife Marilyn; his sister Inger Rogerson and her
husband Murray; and his sister-in-law Gloria Rasmussen; along with numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Gunner and
Gordon, parents Evald and Anna, and grandparents Peter and Laura Rasmussen.
Hankss sense of duty was without question and he was a man of principle. He was
a very moral man, who treated both men and women with respect, and he placed a
high value on the sanctity of marriage. He was inordinately generous with his
time and energy when helping family, friends and neighbours. His education was
put aside at an early age for work, but he was well educated by continuous
reading and had a photographic memory. The Rasmussen family farm was very
important to Hank and he harvested most of the crop last fall. He had also
attained a Vehicle Mechanicšs license in the early fifties. Over the years he
raised cattle, pigs and horses and made a special home for each dog that found
him. We pray we will remember Hank by emulating his best qualities. This should
also mean that we will have a goal to work toward, and will enjoy our work as he
did. A Memorial Service was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dalum on
Thursday, March 23, with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating. Courtney-Winter's
Funeral Home were in care of arrangements. If you make a donation to Cancer
Research, 2nd Floor, 215 - 12th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 1A2, please
remember Hank at that time.
