The family of Brian Drummond regretfully announces his passing on May
28, 2006 in Drumheller, Alberta. Brian is survived by his mother Grace and
brothers Robert and Bruce. At the family’s request, Brian’s cremated remains
will be interred in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, please
make a donation to the SPCA in memory of Brian and his love of animals.

JOHNSTON:
Leona “Lee” 1917 - 2006
It is with great sadness that the family of Lee Johnston announces her passing
on June 10, 2006 at the Drumheller Health Centre. Lee is survived by her sister
Mary’s son, Dr. Douglas Barfield of Minnesota, USA as well as several local
relatives by marriage. Lee was born to Ann and Fred Bespalko in 1917 at
Winnipeg, Manitoba. Following the passing of her father when Lee was small, her
mother and sister Mary moved to Aerial, Alberta where they resided until
adulthood. Lee became quite renowned for her exceptional abilities as a
beautician/stylist and she practiced her trade in her self-owned salon in
Edmonton, Alberta for a number of years. Lee met and then married Victor
Johnston in 1974 and continued her career as a beautician until her retirement.
she then moved to Drumheller, Alberta where she taught her beautician techniques
to the Drumheller Institution inmates. A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday,
June 13, 2006 at 2:00 PM. from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Drumheller,
Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lee to a charity
of one’s choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.

KEMBALL: Catherine 1977 - 2006
On May 29, 2006, Catherine Kemball passed away peacefully after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by her loving fiancee Joel Ouellette; her parents Jim and Kathy; sister
Paula; two brothers Doug and Sean; as well as many relatives and dear friends. A
Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 1:00 PM. at Christian
Life Centre, 10123 Princess Elizabeth Avenue. Thank you to everyone for their
cards and support.

PORTER: Albert Bain 1925 - 2006
Born September 21, 1925 went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2006 at
the age of 80. He was born in Cullen, Scotland. Albert served with Her Majesty’s
Navy in WWII as a minesweeper. He married Inge in 1950 and moved to Canada in
1957 where he worked as a butcher until 1961 when he worked as a Steward at
Stony Mountain Penitentiary. They moved to Drumheller in 1967 and Al worked at
the Drumheller Penitentiary first as Head Steward, working his way to Assistant
Warden until 1986 when he retired. He enjoyed gardening and camping in the
Rockies. He is survived by Inge, his loving wife of 55 years; their son Ian in
Calgary; their daughter Donna (Randy); granddaughters Rachel and Kristi;
‘adopted’ daughter Joan; and many close friends and great neighbours. A Memorial
Service will be held at Everden Rust Funeral Services (1130 Carmi Ave.,
Penticton) on Wednesday, June 14 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to
the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
