DAMMANN: Margaret Anne

We regret to announce the passing of Margaret Anne Dammann on August 2, 2006, in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 83 years. Anne is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Orville (Slim); one daughter, Bev Dammann of Vernon; two sons, Dwight (Donna) of Campbell River, BC, and Les (Terri) of Valemount, BC; four grandchildren, Derek (Jessica), Dara, Mark (Lisa) and Jim; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Kendra; four sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne’s first love was her family. Her grandchildren were everything. She always thought of every one else first. She was a kind soul. Anne will be greatly missed by all. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2006, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anne’s name may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, 2101 – 32nd Street, Vernon, BC V1T 5L2. HAMPTON: Dawn G.  1925 - 2006

On August 4, 2006 Dawn passed away at the Continuing Care Center in Drumheller Alberta with his family at his side.Dawn was 81 years old, born at “dawn” on July 17, 1925 in Rowley, AB. He was born and raised on the family farm three miles west of Rowley. In 1951, he married his wife Marie (Griffith) and they proudly raised their two sons on this same farm. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Marie, his children Stan (Wanda) and Neil; grandchildren Karen (Chad) Block, Tara (Rob) Vanden Pol and great granddaughters Morgan and Macy Block. He also leaves behind his siblings Vee McKee (Jack Primrose), Skip (Muriel) Hampton, Judy (Jim) Milne; brother-in-law John (Laura) Griffith, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Dawn was predeceased by his parents Lilah and Prather, as well as his brother LeVern. Dawn was an active member of the community. He was a member of the Drumheller Hospital Board and Rowley Hall Board, director of the Big Valley Feed Association, Church Elder and 4-H Leader. He also enjoyed playing pool, curling, square dancing, playing cards and was often seen at various “Drop In” Centers in the area. Not to be forgotten are the fond memories and stories he had of the “Rumsey Coffee Gang”. The family expresses gratitude and thanks to Dr. Miller, the nurses and caregivers of Continuing Care. Also, thanks to all the friends and family that visited Dawn. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.  Services were held on Tuesday, August 8 at the Rowley Community Hall. Internment followed at the Rowley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Drumheller Continuing Care (Recreational Department).
