Answering Service in 1994. She presided as president of the T.A.S. Operators Association for ten years.  Frances was active as a volunteer for many years at her children's schools; working with the Cancer Society, Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, along with the Salvation Army. One of Frances' greatest achievements was her compassion, love and understanding for the less fortunate. Her shining achievement and proudest moments were the passion for her family, children and grandchildren. She was a divorced mother of three who raised her children with dignity and grace.  A cancer survivor for twenty-five years, she proved any obstacle could be overcome. Frances loved gardening, reading, sewing, music, and needlepoint. Her greatest love and greatest weakness were children and animals.  Her yard was the neighborhood playground. Frances is survived by her three children, Catherine and Robert Moseley of Calgary, Shawn Rankin of Edmonton and Tina Rankin of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, Todd (Candice), Jody, Derek, Lianne, Julia Moseley and Porter Rankin; and three great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brothers, Tom (Bertha), Angelo (Rita), Bruno (Alice) DeCosta; sister-in-law Florence Rankin; and many nieces and nephews. SCHEIE: Helen Eva (Bray)  1918 - 2006

Helen Eva was born July 18, 1918 at Mayerthorpe, Alberta.  She was predeceased by her parents; husband Clarence; two sisters, Louise and Martha; and three brothers, Jack, Ben, and Wilfred.  Surviving Helen are her three children, Dorothy of Calgary, Elpha (Vern) of Patricia, and Louis (Arlene) of Drumheller.  She is also survived by two sisters, Mary of Rimbey and Jean of Calgary; one brother, Jim (Margaret) of Mayerthorpe; two half-sisters Anna (Johnny) of Greencourt and Myrnia (Eddy) of Rocky Mountain House; one step-brother, Emory of Edmonton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family in Drumheller. Helen moved to the Camrose area in 1937.  While working in the Camrose district, Helen met the love of her life and married him (Clarence) in 1939. Together they bought a moderate sized farm at Duhamel.  Helen became and remained always as Clarenceıs faithful helpmate.  When they retired in 1976 from farming and also from Clarenceıs rural mail delivery job they then moved to Rimbey where they bought a home in town and began to take life much easier.  Going on bus tours and socializing with other senior friends at the drop-in centre filled much of their time. When Clarence passed away in 1990, Helen moved to Drumheller.  She lived at the Sunshine Lodge accommodations until her passing.  Helen remained active until she suffered a heart attack last summer.  This took a lot out of her and more serious respiratory problems evolved. Helen was always a creatively ambitious person.  For many years she sewed or made most of her own and her childrenıs clothes.  She was pretty handy with a hammer and saw as well.  Her grandchildren thought she was the fastest mitten knitter in the whole world.  Helen had a very special love for babies.  Holding the wee great-grandchildren on her lap always put her in seventh heaven. Two years ago Helenıs health began to gradually and steadily decline.  This made it difficult and then impossible for Helen to correspond like she used to with old friends and relatives living not near.  But these were always in her heart and mind up until she passed away on April 13, 2006.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2006 from Burgar Memorial Chapel with Mary Ann Pastuck presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or the charity of oneıs choice. Burgar Funeral Home Camrose in care of arrangements. (780) 672-2121
