Bolin: Chris

Chris Bolin of Drumheller passed away on April 29, 2005 at the age of 18 years in the Calgary Foothills Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.  He succumbed to his injuries after a courageous 12 day battle for survival. Chris will be forever remembered in our hearts by his parents Duane and Laurie; two brothers, Justin (Dawn) and Matt (Sara); soul mate Jacci; grandmother Rose; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is also survived by countless friends and teammates.  Chris has now for the first time met with his predeceased uncle Stephen (1982) and grandfather Frank (1985).   Chris's love and compassion for sports, especially hockey and baseball, could only be surpassed by his love for life and his relationships with his friends and all that knew him.  We would like to thank all those who made every effort to save Chrisšs life, the Drumheller Fire and EMS, STARS, and staff at the Drumheller and Foothills hospital.  Thanks to all those who visited Chris during his final days and gave our family comfort, support and hope during this difficult time. In lieu of any floral contributions, the family appreciates the thoughtfulness, but asks that further donations in Chris's memory be made to the Drumheller and Area Health Foundation, marked toward the CT Scan (Box 4500, Drumheller, Alberta, T0J 0Y0).  All monies that have been donated to Chrisšs Trust Fund will also be forwarded to the CT Scan Fund. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 2:00pm at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church with Father Daniel Stevenot celebrating. Cooley: Ivan

Ivan went to be with his beloved Beulah on April 30, 2005, at his residence at the age of 77 years. Ivan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol; one daughter, six sons and their families, six step-children and their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is survived by one brother Mel Cooley, and was predeceased by his brother Fred Cooley.   Ivan will be remembered for his music, outgoing personality and his love for animals.  Ivan was a foster parent and he will be remembered by all of them. Hedin: Don

Mr. Don Hedin of Grande Prairie passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 at the age of 49 years. Don is survived by his loving companion Ruby Tunke. Kiss: Gaspar  1931 - 2005

Gaspar Kiss, beloved husband of Nancy Kiss passed away on Wednesday, April 27, at the age of 73 years.  He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Ilona (Norm) and their children Brandy, James, Tyler and Kali; daughter Tara (Tracy) and their children Melissa and Matthew.  Two days prior to his passing, Brandy (Jay) blessed him with a great-grandchild, Peyton Leigh Alexis. Gaspar was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Gaspar and best friend Alex Szabo, all of Karcag, Hungary, also granddaughter, Cassandra Marie Fournier. Gaspar was born in Karcag, Hungary on May 13, 1931.  He later came to Canada in 1957, where he met Nancy, his loving wife of 39 years.  They resided in Calgary with their two daughters, until 1974, when they moved to East Coulee, a small community which to him felt like home in Hungary.  In 1984 they moved into Drumheller where they resided until his passing. Funeral Services were held Monday, May 2, 2005 at 1:00pm at Courtney-Winteršs Funeral Home with Reverend Karoly Godollei officiating. LeBlanc: Homer  1920 - 2005

Homer LeBlanc passed away peacefully May 2, 2005 at Drumheller Continuing Care. He was born May 10, 1920 at Coderre, SK. He is survived by his wife Doris; children Susan (Everett) Page of Didsbury, Greg (Kim) LeBlanc of Drumheller, Judy (Dean) Pisoni of Medicine Hat, Paul, Leonard and Archie LeBlanc all of Drumheller; grandchildren Diane and Gene (Susan), Jamie, Angel, Daniel, Amanda (Greg), Terence, Trevor, Quaid, Ravyn (Judy), Tara,  Josh, Meranda (Paul); great grandchildren Allen, Brittany (Gene), Reese, Reid (Diane), Brady, Kassidy (Jamie), Eden (Trevor), Abby (Meranda); sisters Louella, Leona, Evelyn (Claude), Jeanette (Cyril), Rolande; brothers Roy (Donna), George (Marlene), Roger (June); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Grace LeBlanc; sisters Florida, Laura, Emelda, Clara; and brothers Wilfred and Hubert. He was raised on a family farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Wandering River in the 1950's; where he met Doris, his soon to be wife. They moved to Drumheller in 1957. He worked in the coal mines in Drumheller and in the oilfields of Alberta until his retirement in 1980. They bought a house in Newcastle in 1959 and resided there until January of 2000 when he was moved to the Drumheller Nursing Home. He was later transferred to the Continuing Care Unit at the new hospital. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. His favourite spot was at the end of the kitchen table, with a cup of coffee and a cigarette in his hand. He was very close to his brothers. The family would like to thank the staff of Drumheller Continuing Care, with special thanks to the wonderful nursing staff in Pioneer Lane. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic  Church on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 4 p.m., with lunch to follow. Leslie: Olive Louise

Olive Louise Leslie of Hussar passed away on April 30, 2005 at the age of 86 years.   Olive is survived by her children Mel (Sherry) Leslie of Drumheller, Terry (Ben) Armstrong of Hussar, Doreen (Clarence) Schimpf of Edmonton and Merla (Tom) Todd of the Crows Nest Pass. Sharpe: Deane Huffman  1919 - 2005

Deane Huffman Sharpe passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2005, in the evening, at Drumheller Regional Hospital. Deane was born June 23, 1919, in Drumheller, Alberta, to Wilkie and Anne (Asselstine) Sharpe. He married his beloved wife Elsie Richardson September 28, 1941. He courted her while taking Agriculture Mechanics at S.A.I.T. in Calgary. He returned to the farm at Munson and raised a family. He was a member of the Drumheller and Munson United Church, and former UFA Delegate for 25 years. While participating in 4-H Grain Club, he won numerous ribbons and awards. He was also an avid sports player enjoying both baseball and curling. A highlight of Deanešs life was to watch the grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their activities. In 1996 Deane and Elsie retired to the Keystone Towers in Drumheller. In 2004, due to failing health, Deane entered the Drumheller Continuing Care Unit. Deane is survived by Elsie, his wife of 62 years; daughter Anita Adams and a son Robert (Wendy); five grandchildren Lori (Jeff) Chantler, Nanci (Brian) Boechler, Glenn (Kandice) Adams, Kerry (Stacie) Sharpe, and Lisa Sharpe; and seven great-grandchildren Tyler, Jordan, Kayla, Nicole, Kelsey, Eric and Blaire. Deane is also survived by a twin brother Don (Ethel), and a sister Jeane Wood. Deane was predeceased by his parents Wilkie and Anne; four sisters Baby Marjorie, Katherine Scharf, Shirley Bingham, and Elizabeth Campbell; and one brother Roderick Sharpe. McInnis and Holloway Funeral Home, of Calgary, are handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church in Drumheller, with Reverend Jan Stevenson officiating. Deane will be cremated and then interment at Munson Cemetery.
