In 1967 they moved back to Drumheller where Howard worked at the Drumheller Institution until his retirement in May 1989.
Howard enjoyed all aspects of nature and the outdoors,
including hunting, fishing and collecting rocks and fossils. He had a love for
animals and enjoyed watching them in the wild with drives through the
countryside where the sport became who spotted the most game and who spotted it
first. He spent many a winter feeding the birds which seemed to spread the word
to their friends as sometimes it was hard to keep up with the demand and the
numbers that made their way to the feeders. He also enjoyed the animals he had
as pets including the horses he owned while residing on the acreage and the dogs
that made their way to their home over the years. Each had their place in his
heart, the most recent being his good friend, Holly. Howard also enjoyed people
and loved to play practical jokes. He had a soft spot for kids and always took
time for them and included them in whatever was going on. His sense of humour,
his kindness, his generosity and concern for others will be missed by those who

Storch: Eve 1931 - 2005
Eve, beloved wife of John of Morrin, Alberta, passed away June 22, 2005 in the Drumheller Hospital. Born to Cap and Rena Thompson on March 24, 1931, Eve was predeceased by her parents, brother Joe and sister Alice, sons Gordon and Ted, and grandson John Bradley. During their 58 years together, Eve and John lived in Rumsey, Cavendish, Drumheller, Calgary, and retired to Morrin. Eve's gentle way, her sense of humour, and skills as a hostess will be missed by family and friends. During these years she was an active member of the Eastern Star and the United Church of Canada, and was a member of the Rumsey Royal Canadian Legion. Her love of music and talent at the piano was evident in the many students she taught, the years she played for church services, and the accompanying of soloists at countless occasions. Eve worked at the Drumheller Associated Clinic and the Chinook Medical Clinic, where her contributions to the management of the clinics was appreciated and helped to create many lasting friendships. Her loves of all things chocolate, and cooking were appreciated by children of all ages. Eve was gifted at knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting and tatting and many people benefited from her skills. Always one to enjoy a bad pun, a good party, a sing song, or games of any description, Eve's home was open to welcome family, friends and strangers. Her titles were many - Momma, G.G. (Great Grandma), Neighbour Lady, Aunty Eve - and she enjoyed saying that she was "Just Eve", with no middle name and teased every Adam she met.
Eve will be deeply missed by husband John, their family Diana and Ken Meller, Jim and MaryAnn, John and Nancy, Deborah and Rick Matheson, Val Duenk, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and extended family. A celebration of Eve's life was held at the Morrin Community Hall at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 27.
