Beck: Morris Gene September 1, 1930 - January 17, 2005
Morris Gene Beck, beloved husband of Ella Beck, passed away suddenly on Monday,
January 17, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Besides his loving wife Ella, Morris is
survived by his children Terry (Carol), Kathy (Len), Robin (Vicki), Barb
(Glenn), Darrell, Lorna, and Dollene (Trevor). In lieu of flowers, donations can
be made in Memory of Morris Beck to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation
(1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6). Memorial Services were held
Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Handhills Community Hall.

Meyers: Robert Brian 1949 - 2005
Robert Brian, born April 23, 1949 in Berwyn, Alberta, passed away quietly in
Abbotsford, B.C. on January 12, 2005. Survived by his loving family: wife Lorna;
sons Paul and Pierce; mother Winifred; father Douglas; brothers David and
Kenneth; sister Barbara Johnson; grandchildren Shae, Jacob, Lucy, Keinen and Zoe;
extended family Marisa, Leslie and Travis. Brian left us on this day with both
sad and happy tidings. As Brian has taken leave of this life he has left a score
of family and friends that will forever miss and remember him. We who knew Brian
have been privileged in having had an individual with his warmth and kindness
touch our lives. Brian can truly be said to be someone who cared for the health
and safety of those around him and made that his lifešs work over these past
many years. In life we all struggle from time to time Brian being no exception,
but with the final tally, Brian has surely excelled in his contributions to
those who have been blessed with knowing him. It truly cannot be said that Brian
has left anyone behind, as he will always be with us in both spirit and in our
hearts. His family invites his many friends and loved ones to attend a memorial
service, which will be held at the Crowchild Inn on February 11, 2005 at 2 p.m.
Brianšs family request that any remembrance of him, be made in the way of a
donation to the Salvation Army (Agape Hospice). Additional information can be

Shaw: Norma (nee Cooper) 1932 - 2005
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our wonderful
mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 18, 2005.
Norma passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Extended Care facility in Kelowna,
B.C. surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing brought an end to her 50
year long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Mom was born September
16, 1932 in Carbon, Alberta to James and Bessie Cooper. She was well known in
the community and had many fond memories growing up there with her older twin
sisters Jean and Joyce, and her younger brothers, Jimmy and later David. Later
in life, Mom was an active participant in the 4-H Club in Portage la Prairie,
the Anavets Club in Saskatoon and the MS Chapter in Kelowna. Mom had a quick wit
and a comeback for everything and her sayings will live long in her family,
friends and caregivers memories. She will also be remembered for her lively
spirit and generous heart that touched many. Mom was predeceased by her loving
and devoted husband John, in 2001 and her sister Joyce. She is survived by her
sister Jean Watts (Lethbridge, AB); her brothers Jimmy Cooper (Ontario), David
(Vancouver Island); her son David Horsley (Calgary, AB); daughters,
Cynde Fetherston (Winnipeg, MN), Lorena Wood (Kelowna, B.C.), and Ivy-Jean Horn
(Kelowna, B.C.). Mom also leaves to mourn 18 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service was held in the chapel of
First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2005
with Rev. Wayne Laurie officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to
service. A private family interment will follow Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at
Lakeview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS

Thomas: Edna Lavella 1915 - 2005
Edna passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2005 in Lethbridge, AB. She
was born Edna Lavella Lee on July 10, 1915 in Gopher Head, Alberta and was
predeceased by her husband Ralph in 1987. She grew up in Big Valley and area.
She then met the love of her life, Ralph Thomas, and lived in Rumsey, Morrin and
then moved on to Rimbey with her family in 1960. Edna and family then moved to
Calgary in 1970 and resided in this community for many years where she was very
active with various clubs and the church. Edna will be sadly missed by her son,
Robert Thomas and his wife Ellen and grandson Ryan; son Allan Thomas and
granddaughter Danielle; daughter Trudy, husband John Harbidge, granddaughter
Kelly and her husband Tim Siemens, and grandson Tyler; plus her goddaughter
Arlene Hautzinger. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February
2, 2005 at
Southwood United Church, 10690 Elbow Dr. S.W., Calgary. Donations in lieu of
