Aaserud: Albert C. 1914 - 2005
Albert Aaserud, resident of Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary, passed away
peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005. Forever in our
hearts, he is lovingly remembered by: daughters Sharon Lejeune (René) and
Dorothy Kempthorne (Gordon); grandchildren Léo Lejeune (Sylvia), Lisa Lejeune
(Kevin Timanson), Todd Kempthorne, Katherine Kempthorne and Kristina Vimy
(Aaron); great grandchildren Ariel Timanson and Christian Lejeune;
sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife,
Myrtle, parents Lena and Ole Aaserud, brothers Olaf, Berger, John and sister
Anna, and grandsons Mark and Stephen Lejeune. Albert was born in the Craigmyle,
Alberta district where he and his wife, Myrtle Moldon, farmed for 50 years.
Service to the community included active membership and leadership in the
church, Masons and R.E.A.L. With a passion for politics, he served as school
trustee and 25 years as Counselor/Reeve of Starland Municipality. He will be
fondly remembered for his enthusiasm for life, reflected by an encouraging,
positive attitude toward people. Success in business was attributed to his
ability to meet challenges and take risks. If ever there was an opportunity to
play ball, play cards or socialize, Albert was there! The family extends
heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the affectionate, devoted caregivers at
Father Lacombe Care Centre. A memorial service was held on Mon. Jan. 10 at 1:00
p.m. at St. Peters Anglican Church, 903 75 Avenue S.W., Calgary. Charitable

Dart: Richard (Rick) Burk February 12, 1952 -
January 2, 2005
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of husband, father,
son, uncle, friend and coach, Rick Dart. He died after a heroic battle against
cancer at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary, on the evening of Sunday, January 2,
2005. Rick was born in Drumheller and was raised on a farm near there. He moved
to Calgary in 1971 and married Pam in Banff in 1974. A true craftsman, Rick
worked in construction, most recently for Wescom Glass and Aluminum Ltd. As well
as building, gardening, and cooking, Rick delighted in watching and coaching his
daughters in the sport of fastball. He will be remembered for his honesty, hard
work and sense of humour. Loved ones including wife Pam (Ball); daughters, Bre-Ann
and Christie; and his mother Elsie (Balmforth) were by Rick¹s side. His father
John Dart predeceased him. A Celebration of Rick¹s life was held at McINNIS &
HOLLOWAY¹S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, January 7,
2005 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Byran D. Derksen officiating. Forward

Poole: Doris Marie
Doris Marie Poole of Carbon, AB passed away January 9, 2005 at the age of 76
years. She is survived by her loving husband Pat; children Geraldine (Doug)
Kraeker of Devon, AB, Sharon (Eugene) MacFarlane of Edmonton, Barry (Paula)
Poole of Calgary, Brian (Lillian) Poole of Edmonton and Kenneth (Sharon) Poole
of St. Albert, AB; three sisters Veda Laybourne of Coronation, her twin Dorothy
Hill of Carseland and Joyce Berkholtz of Holden, AB; one brother Fred Compton of
Victoria, B.C.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 2

Sharpe: Gordon Wray 1937 - 2005
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a loving husband, father,
grandfather, great grandfather and friend Gordon (Skipper) on January 7, 2005 at
the age of 67 years. Gordon passed away suddenly after a long hard fought battle
with COPD. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best
friend Clara of 47 wonderful years, children Candy (Dave) Hamm of Sudbury,
Ontario, Doug Sharpe of Piers, Alberta, Lori (Mike) Ferner of Cochrane, Alberta,
David (Phylis) Sharpe of Hamilton, Ontario, Darrell (Marlene) of Cochrane,
Alberta, Bob (Debbie) Sharpe of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Sherry (Max) of Sudbury,
Ontario, Ken (Arlane) Sharpe of Brooks, Alberta, 24 much loved grandchildren and
12 great grandchildren, a brother Don (Sharon) Sharpe of Winnipeg, Manitoba,
mother-in-law Marjorie Adams of Fenwick, Ontario, sisters-in-law Donna (Ken)
Robbins of Fenwick, Ontario, Sharon (Murray) Robbins of Golden Valley, Ontario
and Brenda (Larry) Frizzell of Arnestein, Ontario. Numerous nieces and nephews
especially John (Linda) Sharpe of Lowbanks, Ontario and many friends.
Predeceased by mother Myrtle and stepfather Ernie, brothers Garnet (Nancy),
Howard (Alice), Roy, Gerald, Bob (Betty), Bill, father-in-law George Adams and
grandson BJ Sharpe. Gordon moved his family to Brooks, Alberta in 1976 where he
worked for Circle D, Smith Trucking and GN Transport before being self employed
and owner operator of C&G Trucking of Brooks, Alberta. Those friends wishing to
remember him please say a prayer for him in your place of worship. Gordon's wish
was to be cremated with no service. Cremation took place on Monday, January 10,
2005. A family service will take place at a later date.

Tabert: Charles Lawrence
Charles Lawrence Tabert of Drumheller passed away on December 31, 2004 at the
age of 80 years. A graveside interment service for Charles will be held on
Friday, January 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. If friends so desire, donations in Charles'

Treacy: Frances Marie 1929 - 2005
It is with deep sadness our family announces the loss of our mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully
in the Drumheller Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Saturday,
January 1, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Frances leaves to cherish her memory:
her three daughters; Audrey Treacy, Linda Jackson, Karen Treacy; eight
grandchildren, Audra Hiller, Chad (Charlene) Hiller, Trenton Jackson, Tyler
Jackson, Natasha (Franco) Giammarioli, Natara (Dale) Cardinal, Kailee Klemmensen,
Kooter (Craig) Kaiser; five great-grandchildren, Kallee, Nerissa and Hayden
Cardinal, Franco and Angelina Giammarioli; mother Maggie Gregory; sisters
Margaret Gibeau, Catherine Gregory, Marilyn (Bill) Holt, Barbara (Ray)
Shoemaker, Theresa (Jim) Adams; brothers Ralph (Muriel)Gregory, Ronnie (Zinnia)
Gregory, Gilbert (Karen) Gregory; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Jack Treacy, her father Rex Gregory,
son-in-law James Jackson, and grandson Kody Klemmensen. Frances was born in
Bassano, AB on February 16, 1929, and lived in the Chancellor/Hussar district
her entire life. In 1949 she married Jack L. Treacy and on July 8, 1999 Jack and
Frances celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their immediate family on
a memorable cruise. Frances has been an active member in the Hussar community
all her life. She sold Avon for 30 years, was a devoted past matron of Hussar
Chapter #92, a worthy Grand Matron of Alberta O.E.S., and a Queen of the
Daughters of the Nile, Sakkara Temple #115. She enjoyed many good times
traveling with these organizations. Throughout her life she showed love,
kindness, patience, and giving. The coffee pot was always on when family and
friends dropped in. She loved her pets; cats and dogs alike. Frances touched
many lives with her hospitality and gentle nature. She will be dearly missed by
all who knew her. A Celebration of Frances' Life was held in the Chapel of
Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary, AB, on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 10 a.m.
with Rev. Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Memorial
