Hingst: Erwin Charles
Erwin Charles Hingst of Big Valley, Alberta passed away peacefully on April 4,
2005 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital at the age of 78. He is survived by his
loving wife, Arlyne, of 55 years and by his nine children, spouses, 20
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother
(Fred), brother-in-law (Bernard Hendricks) and survived by four sisters-in-law
and two brothers-in-law. Erwin, a mechanic by trade started his career in the
towns of Rockyford, Vulcan, and Beisker and ran his own service station in
Drumheller until his retirement. Erwin and Arlyne then moved to Big Valley after
retirement, where he continued his love for fishing, camping and gardening.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2005 at 1:00 PM at St.
Anthony's Catholic Church (151-3rd Street West) Drumheller, Alberta. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to STARS, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Alberta or the Peter Lougheed ICU Unit (3500-26 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 6J4).

King: Mary R. 1920 - 2005
It is with sadness the family of Mary Ritchie King (nee: Barnes) announce her
passing on Saturday, April 2, 2005. May, as she was best known, was born May 28,
1920 at Granum, Alberta, the oldest child of Robert & Jean Barnes. At an early
age the family moved to Carbon, Alberta where her parents homesteaded and to
this day the farm remains in the family name. She is lovingly remembered by her
children Barbara Kohut of Calgary, Bob (Annette) King, of Olds, Shirley (Stan)
Kurowski of Red Deer and Ted (Margaret) King of Red Deer. Her memory will also
be cherished by her nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, her sister
Cynthia (Art) Scheffelmaier, her brother Jack (Florence) Barnes and
sister-in-law Evonne Barnes as well as many nieces and nephews. May was
predeceased by her loving husband George King in 1979, her son-in-law Frank
Kohut, her parents, a sister, brother and brother-in-law. Mom and Dad
farmed at Carbon from 1946 -1973 when ill health forced Dad to retire to
Drumheller. After his death she chose to relocate to Calgary where she has lived
for the past 25 years. Mom enjoyed a good life, with her family being her major
driving force and focal point. Her last years were spent at the Beverly Centre
in Calgary where the staff, the choir, the activities and outings were the
special people and events in her life. A funeral service will be held at the
Chapel, Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.

still beside us just in a different way!" Internment will follow at Mountain
View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made
directly to the charity of one¹s choice. Mountain View Memorial Gardens are

Moore: Raymond 1918 - 2005
Moore, Raymond Hugh (Ray) beloved husband of 47 years to Mrs. Laurine Moore of
Olds Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Olds General Hospital on April 2nd,
2005 at the age of 86. Raymond was born on October 3, 1918 at Stettler Alberta.
He grew up on his grandfather¹s homestead at Rumsey, Alberta where he continued
to farm for some 54 years until his retirement in 1995. Ray and Laurine then
moved to Olds until his passing. Ray spent many years as the Rumsey area
veterinarian in the early days treating animals for almost anything; he loved
horseback riding, breaking horses, playing old time music on the fiddle,
mandolin, guitar, harmonica and accordion with family and friends. He had one
great passion that continued for the rest of his life, he loved to dance to the
old time tunes and call square dances. Ray was a 50 year member of the
Benevolent Order of Elks of Canada where he was honored with a life time
membership. He loved all children but had a very special spot in his heart for
his six grand children and two great grand children. Ray was predeceased by his
first wife Gladys (Hewett) in 1948, his parents, one sister, (Helen McRae in
1987), brother (Clarence Moore in 2002) and brother (Fred Moore in 2004). He is
survived by his loving wife Laurine, two sons John (Betty) Moore, Jim (Ellen)
Moore, one daughter Bonita (Calvin) Murray, his grandchildren: Lenette (Mathew)
Standing, Mark Moore, Neil Moore, Tracey Moore (Chris), Chad Miller, Danielle
(Edward) Harwood , and two great grandchildren: Avalea Dawn and Joshua. Ray will
also be sadly missed by his brother Don (Doris) Moore, sisters Louise Dain, Ruth
(Jim) Darcey, Florence (Fern) Rondeau, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and
numerous nieces and nephews. Ray will be remembered for his spunky sense of
humor, his perseverance and great love of family and friends. A celebration of
life will be held at the Rumsey Community Center on Thursday, April 7th, 2005 at
2:00 PM. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to

Tetz: Lea 1916 - 2005
In loving memory of our mother, Lea Tetz of Carbon, Alberta who passed away
suddenly on March 28, 2005 after a brief illness. Born in Grainger, Alberta on
June 25, 1916, she married Elger Tetz of Carbon on November 16, 1939 and farmed
in the Carbon area since. She was predeceased by her husband Elger in 1997, her
son Alan in 1974, two brothers Ron Hixt and Jack Hixt. She is lovingly
remembered by her two daughters Valerie (Quinton) Bertsch of Carbon, and Sharron
Tetz of Kelowna, B.C.; two grandchildren Joan (Doug) Stobee and Jeff (Donna)
Bertsch; five great grandchildren; two sisters Alma Sanders of Lacombe and Elsie
Berreth of Beiseker; as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial services
were held on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Level Land Seventh Day
Adventist Church (east of Beiseker) with Harold Hunter and Pastor Werner Seidel
officiating. Interment followed in the Level Land Cemetery. Memorial donations
may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or charity of choice. As a
tribute to Lea Tetz, a tree will be planted in the Heartland Tree Memorial Park,
