Fox: Lily Marie

Lily Marie Fox of Carbon, AB, passed away at St. Maryıs Health Care Centre in Trochu, AB, on May 2, 2004, at the age of 80 years. She will be lovingly remembered by: her daughters, Bonnie (Jack) and Dixie (Ken); her grandchildren, Scott, Colin (Treena), James (Amanda), Kristy, Robbie and Karen; great-grandchildren, James, Kyle, Anthony, Joel and Paige; three sisters, Erna, Gertie and Violet; as well as numerous other family and friends.  Lily was predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest and twelve brothers and sisters.

A Graveside Service was held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at the Carbon United Church, in Carbon, AB. If so desired, a memorial tribute in Lily's name may be made directly to the Carbon United Church (General Delivery, Carbon, AB T0M 0L0) or to St. Maryıs Health Care Centre (Box 100, Trochu, AB T0M 2C0). Holsworth: Ross Norman  1943 - 2004

Ross Norman Holsworth passed away at the Drumheller Hospital on April 24, 2004.   Ross was born August 14, 1943 in Red Deer.  He lived in Sylvan Lake until 1946 when he moved with his family to Alix, AB where his father was in the grocery business.  Ross attended the Alix School.  He was active in the community youth groups and worked after school in his dadıs store.  In 1962 he joined the Navy and moved to the West Coast.  In 1963 he married Kay Hansen.  The lived in Victoria where their first son, Brian, was born, until 1965 when they returned to Alix.  Ross drove school bus and worked in the family grocery store.  He was a member of the Alix Volunteer Fire Department, the Lions Club, the Curling Club and the Forresters.  The family enjoyed camping every summer.  While living in Alix, Ross and Kay had sons Doug and Scott. This completed his family.  He was very proud of his family. In 1973 the store sold and the family moved to Strathmore and then Calgary in 1975, where Ross was employed by Associated Grocers.  In 1980 they moved
to Carbon to open Diamond Groceries.  After leaving Carbon, Ross and Kay made their home in Drumheller, where Ross continued to live until his passing. He leaves to remember him, his three sons, Brian (Sylvia), Doug (Kim), Scott (Vicki); grandchildren Caley, Brittany, Brody, Derrick, Ian, Jesse and Jamie; two brothers Ralph (Maurine) and Jim (Anne) Holsworth; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Kay, father Eston, and mother Edith.   

Jackson: Steve (Jobbagy)  1942 - 2004

Steve (Jobbagy) Jackson of Airdrie passed away on May 9, 2004. Steve was born in Wayne, Alberta on December 2, 1942 and is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; most beloved son Barry (Jennifer) and his grandsons Cash and Chase of Airdrie; his brothers George and Dan of Drumheller; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Frank Bixby of East Coulee; sister Delores Torresan of Spruce Grove; special friend Bev King of Drumheller; numerous  nieces and nephews and a lifetime of wonderful friends.  He will be missed by his little companion Sunny. Steve was preceased by his parents John and Kay and a baby sister. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 3 p.m. from the Church of the Nazarene in Drumheller.  A reception will be held at the East Coulee Motor Inn immediately following the service. Pierce: Annabelle

Mrs. Annabelle Pierce of Claresholm, passed away at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre on Friday, May 7, 2004 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her children Sylvia (Gale) Lee of Claresholm, Charlie (Pat) Pierce of Morrin, Linda (Merv) Pollock of Calgary, Brenda (Mel) Johnson of Rumsey, Ann Pierce of Calgary, and Mavis (Doug) Smith of Stettler; as well as by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2002. Annabelle was the youngest daughter of Thomas and Marion Crawford of Morrin. Thiessen: Margaret Jane (nee Kavanagh)  1915 - 2004

Margaret Jane Thiessen (nee: Kavanagh) of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at the of age 88 years, beloved wife of the late John Thiessen. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Margaret Woolsey of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Pat (Merv) Eld of Medicine Hat, Carol (Ian) Wyllie of Medicine Hat and Gary (Linda) Thiessen of Brooks; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews in England and Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband John on January 5, 1971 and by one brother, Jimmy, two sisters, Mary and Bea, one son-in-law, Al, and three grandchildren in infancy. Margaret was born in Carrowilken, County Sligo, Ireland on December 27, 1915 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946.  Together with her husband John, they farmed in Manitoba before settling in Drumheller where John was employed in the oil field.  Here they raised and educated their four children.  Following Johnıs passing, she decided in 1972 to make Medicine Hat her home.  Our home was always filled with the warmth of laughter, music and friends. Family was always a priority with Mom and one of the most memorable times was being united with her nephew Jimmy from Ireland after 55 years.  Mom will be truly missed by all those whose lives she has touched. 12, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. James Hillson officiating.
