Raisanen: Patricia Gayle  (1947 - 2004)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Raisanen, wife, mother and grandmother, on Sunday, December 19, 2004. Patricia Gayle Cameron was born March 17, 1947 in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. The youngest daughter of Agnes and Ronald Cameron.  Her family remained in Lucky Lake, which was where she took all of her schooling and grew to be very active in the community and with the church.  Her ultimate dream growing up was to become a missionary sparked by her overwhelming desire to help and to guide others in need. It was here, in Lucky Lake, that she met and fell in love with Donald Raisanen.  They married July 9, 1966.  Pat and Don moved to North Battleford, Saskatchewan and started their lives together.  In the spring of
1967, she gave birth to Angela, followed in 1970 by Kandace and in 1973 by Troy. Pat worked for many years in the field of commerce, however, her desire to be at home with her family, devoting a lifetime to raising her children and becoming passionately involved in every facet of their lives became her new mission.  She spent years involved with school activities, boards, following her childrenıs interests wherever they would go.  She found great enjoyment out of following her sonıs hockey career as he was growing up, and was always involved in some way with this. Pat always had a soft spot for children, running a daycare, nursery school, baby-sitting, craft classes for children, after school programs and years and years of baby-sitting.  Pat was a leader, a teacher, our pillar of strength.  In 1995 Pat and Don moved to Drumheller, AB and in 2002 Hanna became her final home. A lifetime of love and devotion to her family, her friends, and her neighbours, was her largest contribution to this world. Pat held a special place in her heart for all those she loved.  A heart bigger than anyone could imagine.  A heart that fought so hard to ease the pain and suffering of others.

If together we had just one more day,
To say the things we meant to say.
To show you how much we really cared,
To hold your hand when you were scared.
To ease your pain-to comfort you
The toughest times to get you through;
Peace is what we wish for you.
We will always love you forever and ever.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Don; her loving daughters Angela (Kelly), Kandace (Glenn); and her loving son Troy (Karen); her angels Kristin, Brett, Cody, Lacey, Stefani, Thomas and Logan; her mother Agnes and her brothers and sisters Gloria, Ronnie (Karen), Faye (Art), Dennis (Linda), Rick (Odette); numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by her father Ronald Cameron, brother-in-law Donald Buhr, brother-in-law Bill Normandy, and great-nephew Justin Fitzsimmons. A memorial service for Pat will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Netter officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Courtney-Winter's Funeral Home, Hanna, (403) 823-2666.    52c
