Bertsch: Irene October 9, 1925 - December
12, 2004
Irene Bertsch, much loved sister, aunt passed away peacefully on December 12th,
2004 at the age of 79. Irene was born on October 9th, 1925 in Eureka, South
Dakota. Irene was just four years old when she moved with her family to Canada
from the United States. She developed a wonderful spirit of love for her family
and cared for each one all her life. Irene moved to Red Deer in 1965 where her
focus became a love for the people she was surrounded by. Her memorable smile
and laughter will be cherished by all who knew her. Irene is survived by her two
sisters Tilley Seibel of Red Deer and Esther Bertsch of Drumheller along with
many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank those in her
Seniorıs Home who cared for her and loved her so much. Your constant caring,
loving and sharing will be something that is cherished. Thank you. A special
thanks to Jennifer Studor, who faithfully brought her to church every Sunday and
to those who cared for her at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. A memorial service
will be held at Livingstones Church, 2020-40th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on
Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. the Rev. Harold Hunter will

Newman: Margaret Anne, RN October 14, 1916 -
December 7, 2004
On December 7, 2004, Margaret Anne Newman, RN (nee Simpson) left this world to
join her soulmate and husband, William Jarvis Newman. She is survived by her
sons, Doug Newman (Shirley), Terry Newman (Marni); five grandchildren, Justin
Newman, Celeste Montpellier (Lane), Jesse Newman, Regan Newman, and Elena Amorim
de Newman; three great-grandchildren; sister Eunice Cook; numerous nieces and
nephews; special friend and sister-in-law, Winnie Stiles, RN (nee Newman).
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Bill; infant daughter Anne Marie; her
parents, Vic and May Simpson; her brother Allan Simpson; and sister Isobel
Scott. Born October 14, 1916 on the family homestead at Delia, Alberta,
Margaret attended school in Delia and went on to nursing school, graduating as a
Registered Nurse from the Holy Cross Hospital in 1938. Margaret and Bill were
married on July 24, 1941, and had a wonderfully complete life together. She was
a credit to the Nursing profession, and a kind and compassionate caregiver.
She was an extraordinary intelligent and witty woman, and fiercely independent.
Margaret was the rock we clung to during times of crisis and was a tower of
strength to her family and friends. Our appreciation and sincere gratitude is
extended to the staff at the Drumheller Continuing Care Hospital for the
kindness and care given to Margaret over the past three years. In particular,
we wish to convey our special thank you to Dianne Meyer, RN, for her love and
support. Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 10, at the
United Church in Delia, Alberta, with graveside ceremonies following. In lieu of

Schinnour: Lloyd George 1931 - 2004
Lloyd George Schinnour, beloved husband of Shirley Schinnour of Pine Lake,
Alberta, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, December
12, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Lloyd was the owner of Olde Tyme Antiques
until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed the quiet and solitude of his garden
and his flowers during the summer months. The best medicine of all to Lloyd was
the love and companionship of his devoted cat, Calvin. Lloyd will be very sadly
missed but lovingly cherished in the hearts of his family and dear friends.
Lloyd leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, Shirley and their children;
Allan (Georgi), Rex (Linda), Ken (Marcie), Ron (Cathy), Gary (Jane), Bruce
(Debbie), and Brian, seven grandsons, thirteen granddaughters and three
great grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by his sister Dolores and brothers
Don and Vern. Lloyd will be sadly missed by his other extended family, as well
as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lloydıs Life will be held at
Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 45th Street, Red Deer Alberta on Friday,
December 17, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta
Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Lloyd's honor
