Helen leaves to mourn her only son, Jerry (Lynn) Loblick of Rosedale, her only grandchild, Tammy (Curtis) Lautermilch and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Halase-Lautermilch and Halle Bee Lautermilch from Drumheller.  She also leaves to mourn her two sisters, Kay Williams of Calgary, AB, and Sophy (Frank) Baker of Invermere, B.C.  Helen also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing. Sweep: Raymond Alexander  1907 - 2004

Raymond Alexander Sweep was born January 1st, 1907 in Tower City, North Dakota, USA. At the age of one year, he came with his family to Alberta settling in the Farrell Lake area in 1908. Ray spent his youth growing up in the Edgerton region returning to the Delia area  in 1929 to work at the Imperial Ranch. Times were tough and for the next several years he worked as a farm labourer on threshing crews, as a bull cook, a fisherman and setting up  farm machinery before settling back to farming at Farrell Lake in 1944. On April 17th, 1944, Ray married his true love Eileen and they resided in the area for 34 years raising their five daughters - Doreen, Lynda, Maryetta, Norma, and Edna. In 1978, Ray and Eileen retired from the farm and moved to Delia where they enjoyed town life for 17 years. Then in 1994, they moved to Hanna, taking up residence in the Parkview Manor. In 2000, Ray moved to the Hanna Continuing Care facility where he remained in good health until his passing. One of Rayıs greatest pleasures was to use his mechanical skills in helping his neighbours pull engines, overhaul tractor motors and fix lawnmowers. He was meticulous about doing a job well or not at all. He loved gardening and flowers and his yard awarded him many red ribbons over the years. Ray loved shuffleboard, horseshoes and making creative use out of anything at his fingertips. He was a good neighbour, faithful friend and totally devoted to his family. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters Doreen and Marcel, Lynda and Harry, Maryetta, Norma and Edna: grandchildren, Rhonda and Dean, Raymond and Angie, Kurtis and Marjorie, Nadine and Neil, Kylie and Ryan and great grandchildren Darcy, Josie, Tyler, and Marenn. Ray was one of twelve siblings with one surviving sister, Florence Dmytruk of Calgary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 12 at 11:00 in the Delia United Church with Harold Hunter officiating. Internment to follow in the Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delia United Church or the Delia Senior Centre. Arrangements entrusted to Courtney's Funeral Service. 1-403-854-2009.
