Hunter: Darlene Norma  1938 - 2004

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Norma Hunter in Edmonton on April 14, 2004 at the age of 65 years. Darlene was born in Drumheller, Alberta on October 31, 1938. it was here she was raised along with her eight siblings, being especially close to her twin brother Alex.  The Hunter family often took camping trips and "Old Faithful" was a favourite site.  In her early years, Darlene was a lifeguard and worked as a telephone operator for A.G.T. in Drumheller.  Throughout her life she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and finally a grandmother. Darlene would have lived outdoors if it had never snowed, going to the lake, camping, gardening and sitting outside in the morning enjoying her coffee and the sunrise, these were some of her special times.  When stuck indoors, she would do jigsaw puzzles, and crochet Afghans for all who asked and for many who didn't.  Darlene enjoyed practical jokes and watching Hockey.  She was a real people person, and this was reflected in her choice of work at the Senior¹s Lodge in Vermillion, the willingness to do and help others. Darlene¹s absolute pride and joy were her children, but especially her grandchildren.  She collected angels and we pray that she is safely within their care now.  Darlene will be sadly missed by all who knew her and she will never ever be forgotten. She was predeceased by her son Kalvin Quinn, twin brother, Alex Hunter, brother, Tommy Hunter, and her father, George Hunter.  Darlene leaves to cherish her memory, her mom, Winnifred Hunter of Drumheller, daughters, Karyn (Douglas) Murray of Edmonton, Martha Macpherson of Calgary, sons, David (Aimee) Watson of Stoney Plain, Keith (Stacy) Watson of Calgary, grandchildren, Liam Murray, Sheldon Watson, baby Watson (as yet unborn), sisters, Maggie (Albert) Barrie of Drumheller, Jeannie(Steve) Safronivich of Brooks, Gracie Hanson of Brooks, Carol Hunter of Calgary, brothers, Bill (Lorraine) Hunter of Calgary, Jimmy (Sharon) Hunter of Port Coquitlam, sister-in-law Ruth Hunter,  numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held Friday April 23, 2004 from Courtney-Winter's Chapel In The Valley.  If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to The Liver Transplant Fund, c/o U. O. A. Foundation, Room 1H1-91 William Mackenzie Centre, 8440 112 Street, Edmonton, AB T6B 2B7. Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel are in care of the arrangements. 403-823-2666
