Jarvis: Lydia Margaret Florence  July 27, 1914 - Nov. 2, 2003

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother on November 2nd 2003, at the Sherwood Park Care Center.  She was pre-deceased by our father Stan in 1987 and a grandson Douglas in 1982.  She leave to mourn, her sister Shirley Barrett of Sardis, B.C., her sons Doug (Carol) of Roblin, Manitoba, Don (Lorna) of Sherwood Park; seven grandchildren, Stan (Felica), Teresa (Garnet) Lebertie, Michael (Amanda), Steven (Jennifer), Tracy (Rick) Risling, Sandra (Dwight) Wilkins, Paul (Corrina) and sixteen great grandchildren.  During the 45 years she lived in Drumheller, mom was very active with numerous United Church groups until failing heath prevented her from continuing.  We ask her many friends not to mourn her death but to remember her life. A memorial service will be held November 8, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Knox United Church, in Drumheller, Alberta with Rev. Hunter officiating.   In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the charity of your choice. Lenfesty: Mark 1938 - 2003

Mark Lenfesty passed away October 29, 2003, surrounded by his family.  Mark was born November 9, 1938, to Maggie and Day Lenfesty in Hanna.  He is survived by his loving wife Rosanna; sister Joan Jones; and children Day, Faye (Doug and son Taylor), Diane (Gary and daughters Leah, Sarah and Michaela), Donna (Tom and son T.J., daughter Rhonda (Don); and his grandchildren Alisha, Samantha, Amanda and Haley) and Tim (Carol and children Carla, Joey, David and Susie). Mark was predeceased by his brothers Billy and Roy, and his parents, Maggie and Day.  He made his home on the family homestead until his passing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Drumheller Hospital, or the Drumheller Community Care Cancer Centre, or a charity of choice.

Maruzs: Vince  1935 - 2003

It is with great sadness, the family of Vince Maruzs, announce his sudden passing on November 1, 2003 at the age of 68. Vince is lovingly remembered and extremely missed by his wife Dorothy (of 46 years); his children Vincent (Susan) Maruzs of Lacombe, AB; Sandra (Rob) Schneider of Drumheller, AB; Karen (Simon) Wells of Regina, SK; and Kimberley (Rick) of Fredricton, NB.  As well, he will be very much missed by his 11 grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Vince is predeceased by his parents Vince Sr. and Lydia Maruzs, and leaves to mourn one older brother, Fred (Kathleen) Maruzs of Calgary, AB. Vince was born on July 22, 1935 in Drumheller, AB.  As a young man he was employed in the coal mines in Drumheller area.  He later obtained a welding trade and spent numerous years in this occupation, including a recent retirement as a welding instructor (for 11 years) at the Drumheller Institution.  In addition to this, Vince began farming in 1966 in Carbon, AB and continued until his passing. Vince was well known for his outgoing nature and generosity and will be greatly missed by many friends.  His skills have contributed to the Drumheller community though his portrayal of prehistoric figures that hang on the streetlights throughout the town. The Funeral Service will be held at the Courtney-Winter's Funeral Chapel in Drumheller, AB on Thursday, November 6 at 11 a.m.  The interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Calgary, AB at 3 p.m. Donations are appreciated in memory of Vince to S.T.A.R.S.
