Sengaus: William 1918 - 2003 Mr. William Sengaus passed away peacefully in the Three Hills Hospital on Sunday, January 26, 2003 at the age of 84 years, after a brief battle with cancer.  Born on the family homestead, west of Rumsey, on September 5, 1918, he was the youngest of four sons born to Jewish pioneers Elias and Victoria Sengaus.  Willie grew up in Rumsey with his parents and brothers Tom, Harold and Ben.  Farming was his profession until he volunteered to serve his country in World War II.  After serving in the Signal Corps overseas, he returned to Canada, and for a short time sold clothing with his brother Hal. Family, friends and farming were the joys of Williešs life.  He returned to farming in the late 1940šs with his brothers Tom and Ben.  He married 'the love of his life' Stella Sjogren in 1951 and they had three sons - David (Donna), Dan (Louisa) and Rick.  "Granny" and "Zade" were blessed with four grandchildren - Dustin, Devon, Travis and Angela.  The Rumsey Community was an important part of Williešs life.  Volunteering and partaking in all community activities made him many friends and earned him the great respect of all who knew him.  His quiet dignity, enduring grace and gentle spirit endeared him to young and old.  Farming kept Willie in great spirit and health.  His favorite chores were calving out and milking cows, building straight and tight fences, cutting hay with his friend 'Gooch' and picking up grain 'on the fly' in his blue International.  His passing is a great loss to his family, friends and his community. A celebration of Williešs life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Rumsey Community Hall.  If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to either the Drumheller Ambulance Service or Kneehill Ambulance Service.  Funeral arrangements in care of Moutain View Funeral Chapel, Three Hills, Alberta.
