Gerlitz-Nash:  (Guss) - Oakie 1917 - 2003

Oakie passed away peacefully on February 12, 2003.  She was born April 28, 1917 in Entwhistle, AB. Oakie will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Guss (Terry), Fred (Donna), Gordon (Marvel), Penny (Bob); ten grandchildren, Talia (Chris) and Dean Young, Tanya and Monica Nash, Michelle and Michael (Candy) Nash, Russell and Darrell (Carly) Nash, Jeremy and Chad Guynn and one great-grandchild, Jackson Guynn.  Sisters-in-law, Irene Sellens, Mary Guss and Vesta Guss and numerous nieces and nephews and family members from her second marriage. Oakie was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara, her father Nicholas, her mother Pauline, husband Norman Nash and Edward Gerlitz, her brothers Jim, Don, Ross, her sisters Myrtle, Emily, Irene, Eva, Frona and Annis. Oakie was known as a hard worker and will be remembered for her beautiful smile.  Her family was the love of her life.  She was proud of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.  She was a community minded person and her favorite sport was curling. A memorial service was held February 17, 2003 at the Carbon Community Centre.  Memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Golden Hills Lodge and Dr. Lundall and the staff at the Three Hills Hospital for all their care and support given to our mom.

Lapohn:  Carl 1917 - 2003

Carl Albert Lapohn passed away peacefully on February 13, 2003 at the age of 85.  Carl was born in Cornelius, Oregon on October 10, 1917.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Violet, son Bryan (Judy) Lapohn, daughter Colleen (Dale) Chambers and sisters Doris (Bill) Zanwick and Louise (Bill) Schultz.  Carl was predeceased by his sister Lydia Lapohn.  G.G. will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jamie (Dustin) Crowther, Shelley (Tim) Jorgensen, Troy (Becky) Lapohn, Karla Chambers, Kelly (Shelagh) Edye, Sean (Jenn) Edye and great grandchildren Alisha, Christian, Brae-Lynn, Ashley, Bradley, Leyton, Brandon, Darcie and Caleb. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Van de Ryse:  Ambrose Emil 1923 - 2003

Ambrose Emil of Calgary (formerly of Drumheller) passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on February 13, 2003 at the age of 80 years.  Beloved friend of Rita O'Connel and dear father of Robert Van De Ryse (Noreen) and Elizabth Van De Ryse.  Ambrose is survived by six sisters.  He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his daughter Ann Margaret and two brothers.  Services were held on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Piersonšs Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Ave. S.E. Calgary.
