Greer: Robert James 1953 - 2003
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert James
Greer on December 26, 2003 at the age of 50 years. Bob was born on June 16,
1953 at Hanna, Alberta to William "Bill" and Prudence "Pat" Greer. He is the
brother of Suzyn Allens, Leslie (Richard) Malansky, Gerry (Judy) Greer, Doug
(Kelly) Greer and Murray (Sandy) Greer. Bob and Shirley (nee Graham) were
united by love, shared hopes and dreams on September 29, 1973. Together they
raised four children; Jodie, Stacey, Tamara (Wes) Shallock and Nathan. Bob was
blessed with twin grandbabies; Kendra and Kaylea Greer-Shallock. He is also
survived by aunts and uncles; Frances and Mike Anderson, and Edie and Larry
DesJardine, in-laws; Lorne and Grace Graham, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob
was predeceased by his beloved mother, Pat. Bob loved being a father and
enjoyed each stage of his children's lives, the challenges they brought with
them and their potentials. He was proud of each of them for their unique
personalities and valued what they contributed to his life. Bob was always
there for his children, family and friends with encouragement and support.
Bob's greatest joy was being able to relive forgotten, everyday, moments through
his grandbabies; Kendra and Kaylea. For Bob, living was sharing moments with
his children, family and friends. For PaBou, heaven was sharing time, hugs and
kisses with Kaylea and Kendra. He found humour in simple, everyday things and
he used his unique sense of humour to brighten the lives of those around him.
Bob enjoyed meeting people of all ages. He loved being competitive and thrived
on the challenge of running his own business, or helping someone else in their
business ventures. For Bob, seeing a project through, from an idea on paper, to
realization, was a thrill. He loved public speaking, sports, and helping people
reach their potential. His charismatic personality lead him forward, from the
youngest Pioneer Elevator Agent, to the youngest Imperial Oil Agent of his time,
to becoming a respected entrepreneur who still did deals on a handshake. We
will hear his unique voice whispered in our dreams, feel his touch in a gentle
breeze, hear his laughter in humorous things, and find his spirit in every
rainbow. Bob, you will be remembered. We love you. You made a difference to
all who met you. You will live forever in our memories. We miss your physical
presence but find comfort in your spiritual presence. Dance your dance of joy!
