was then sent to London, Ontario where he met his wife Edna Mcleod. In 1943 he
returned to Alberta with his new beautiful bride. They settled in the Fish
Lake area and started their family. Later they moved down to Dorothy where they
built the ranch of their dreams. He watched his five children grow and leave
home to start a life of their own. He was proud of all his children and the
lives that they have built for themselves. Ed loved to go out and saddle up his

enjoyed all aspects of the production of the Stampede. He began working with
the rough stock, then moved into the judging of the Chuck wagons and then he
took over the job of flagging the rough stock out of the chutes during the
performances. Always smiling and enjoying the long days. He was the Trail boss
for the Trail '87, he was a proud leader of the bucking horses from the Stampede
Ranch near Hanna, Alberta to the Rodeo grounds in Calgary. Always making sure
that all horses and his fellow cowboys were looked after properly and fed. In
2000 he was honored with leading the pack again in a trail ride to Calgary. He
never turned down an offer to fulfill his life long dreams, if there was a horse
for him he was there. He loved to ride across the open prairie and see all of
the things that fulfilled his dreams. In July of 2002 Ed was inducted into the
Rancher's Hall of Fame in High River. Ed was known for his true love for
ranching and rodeos. Ed is survived by his loving children and their families:
