Mashon: Walter Copps Mashon passed away peacefully on August 30, 2002 at Drumheller Regional Continuing Care at the age of 83. Walter was born in the Dorothy area in 1918 to Anne and Henry Mashon, the youngest of 9 children. In 1950 Walter married Mary Van Kerchvoorde. Together they farmed and ranched in the Homestead Coulee area. Walter enjoyed hunting geese, deer and antelope. In his later years, Walter and Mary enjoyed floor curling every Friday night at the Hand Hills, and the game of UNO in our homes. Walter is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Marlene (Lloyd) Nelson of Kelowna, his granddaughter Tyna (Shawn) Trefry of Kelowna, his grandson James Nelson of Kelowna, his sister Mary Job of Homestead Coulee area, his sister-in-law Agnes Walton, and two great-grandchildren Kaisha and Raeya Trefry. Walter was predeceased by his grandson Wesely Nelson of Kelowna. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Wayne McCrackin officiating. Internment will follow in the Drumheller Cemetery.
