Helderweirt: 1914 - 2002 Mr. Morris Helderweirt of Drumheller, formerly of Rowley and Morrin passed away at his home in Drumheller the end of October, 2002. Born in Wachtebekc, East Flanders, Belgium, April 11, 1914, he came to Canada as an infant along with his Mother and oldest Sister and settled at Tilley. He worked several years for Robert Simpson on his farm and sheep ranch south of Tilley.  In 1939 when the Rolling Hills district opened for irrigation farming, he bought a quarter of land north of the town of Rolling Hills.  Upon selling this quarter of land in 1949 he bought a half section south east of Rolling Hills.  November 19 of the same year he married Alice Lermite of Manor, Saskatchewan.  Here he farmed until 1952 when he decided that he would like to try dry land farming.  The fall of 1952 he bought four quarters east of Rowley later buying two more.  He farmed at Rowley until he sold in 1970 and bought a house in Morrin in 1972 where him and mom lived until she went to a nursing home in Camrose in 1986.  He worked for others for a few years but got the urge to go farming again and bought a quarter at Delia, driving daily from Morrin to Delia. Dad moved to Drumheller in 1997 where he resided until his passing.  He was well known for his friendly nature and the  ability to make many friends over the years.  He was there to help anyone any time, something he had done all his life.  He enjoyed puttering around the yard and was proud of his garden, small as it was.  Also his love for auction and garage sales was the hi light of his being.  He is survived by one daughter Eileen and son-in-law Clifford Ing (Nosey the Cat & Dingo the Dog) of Drumheller.  Also survived by two brothers, Alfred of Trochu and Arthur of Calgary, along with nieces, nephews and his many friends.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Alice of 47 years, in 1996.  His parents Edmond (1976) and Emma (1971) Helderweirt, sisters Martha Hooge (1999) and Mary Kane (1978).  For those who knew and loved him, he will be sadly missed.

Donıt grieve for me, for now Iım free.
Iım following the path God has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard his call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
These things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full,
I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved oneıs touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Donıt lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee.
God wants me now.  He set me free.
