Kormendy: Isabel Mary Kormendy (Paul) born July 22, 1918, Calgary AB. Passed away July 6, 2002 in Edmonton. Isabel was raised in the Drumheller area and was active in her community. She married Joseph Kormendy on August 31, 1938. They later moved to Rosedale, BC where they resided for a many years raising their family, working and providing service to community and church. Isabel returned to the prairies in 1991 to be closer to family. Isabel was a loving person and was a much loved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her parents George and Beatrice Paul and sister Helen, and husband Joseph. Isabel is missed and loved by her children George Kormendy (Sherry), Victoria, Marie Kormendy, Seattle, Laurie MacNair (Tom), Sherwood Park, grandchildren Paul Becker, Stuart Becker (Christine), Julie Becker, Chris Kormendy, Gene Kormendy, her sister Edie Jensen (Ove), nieces Susan Brown (Carson), Joan Reiffenstein (Laurie) and nephew Albert Jensen and family. She has numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews in Alberta, BC and Toronto. Services were held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Rosedale, BC on July 12, 2002 at 10 am. Macdonald: Cyrus Oliver Macdonald (Obb), passed away at the age of 85, at the Drumheller Regional Health Complex on July 20, 2002. He is survived by his lifetime companion and wife, Agnes, daughters Gloria Frehlick of Taber, Corinne of Drumheller, granddaughter Jodene (Jim) Sekura of Taber, a sister Oriole OÕDwyer of Calgary, and special niece Sandra. He is fondly remembered by all his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Bobby, his parents, and two brothers, Howard and Harold. Obb will be remembered as a farmer in the Craigton District, and for his many mechanical skills having worked for the Ford, Rockyford and North Star Garages, Drumheller Composite High School and in latter years for the Starland School Division in Morrin. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing and in later years spending winters in Yuma, Arizona. He will be sadly missed by his many friends who knew and loved him for his friendliness and happy nature, and a home whose doors were always open to friends and family. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Courtney-WinterÕs Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wayne McCrackin officiating.
