Anderson:  Ken Anderson passed away on January 21, 2002 at the Drumheller Hospital. He was born in Drumheller, Where he spend most of his early life, before moving to Sandspit, BC with his family. He retired and settled in Chilliwack for several years before returning to Drumheller. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, his daughter Jennifer, his mom and dad 'Mary and Albert' and his brother Bob. He will be sadly missed by his wife Carol, his son Joe and his fiancé Sandy, his daughter Diane and her husband Len, his Granddaughter Leanne and her boyfriend Rod, his sisters Stella and Carol and their families, and his brothers Jack, Bill, and Roy and their families. He will also be sadly missed by all his friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Blair Kirkby officiating. Bullen: Donald S. On Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital following a brief illness, Donald Bullen, 76, beloved husband of Margaret Bullen of Nanaimo, loving father of Maureen (Bruce Archer) of Nanaimo and James Bullen of Victoria, dear brother of Glen of Nanaimo, and Les of Vernon, passed away. He was predeceased by his sister Betty and Brother Gerald. Don will be sadly missed by his three grandchildren. Don was born in Drumheller, Alberta, where he lived and worded with the British American Oil Company (B/A) until moving to Duncan, British Columbia in 1970. Don worked until retirement at the British Columbia Governments Koksilah Tree Nursery in Duncan. Bulman: Mrs. Barbara Ann Bulman, beloved partner and wife of John Bulman of 30 years, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 20, 2002 at the age of 55 years following a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Taber on September 19, 1946 the daughter of Earl and Eva Owen. Following her school years, she met and three years later married John Bulman on September 19, 1975. They resided in Calgary and later moved to Drumheller where they raised their family. In her spare time she spent many hours on end doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Barbara was also an avid bingo player. The most important aspects of her life was her family. She enjoyed raising her family and equally enjoyed watching her children raise her grandchildren. They were all held very close to heart. Barbara will be forever remembered by her husband John, and her daughters, Bonnie (Jason) Melquist and their children Jesse and Kolyn; and Maggie (Jason) Bastien and their children Selena, Katelyn and Brianna. She will also be remembered by her brothers, Jeff Burke, Orval (Caroline) Owen, Dale Owen and Basil Owen and a special friend, Candace Ginger. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Powell: Edward Powell passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the age of 82 years. Ed was born on June 18, 1919 in Bothwell, in the county of Lanarkshire, Scotland to Martha Alice Cook and William James Powell. He came to Canada at 8 years old in 1928 and lived in the Drumheller Valley his entire life. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters Peggy and Betty; his brothers John, William, Arthur and Alec (as an infant); and Jennie Powell his loving wife of 52 years, in June 1992. Ed is survived by his son Wayne Powell, his sister Agnes MacDonald of Midland, and his four grandchildren who he cherished greatly Ð Christopher, Juliet, Ryan, all of Edmonton, and Stephanie of Vancouver. Edward was a coal miner in his early life from the age of 15. Later in life he worked for the Alberta Government Highways Department for over 20 years as a snowplow operator. Ed demonstrated a life well lived with courage, hard work, commitment, a love of family and friends, and a deep reverence for nature. Thanks Dad and granddad for your love, patience, generosity, and for being there whenever we needed you. You are loved and missed greatly. You left a fine legacy that will carry on. Siwy: Kendra Lee Siwy Feb. 5, 1988 Ð Jan. 16, 2002 It is with heavy hearts that we announce Kendra's departure to begin a 'new life.'  Kendra will always live on in our hearts and memories giving us courage, determination and strength. Snideman:  Maisie Kiturah Snideman, born June 23, 1913, passed away suddenly January 16, 2002 at the age of 88 years. Born in New Haven, Sussex, England, Maisie came to Canada in 1947. October 4 of that same year she married Elbert Walter Snideman. Maisie is survived by her son David (Bunny) Snideman of Drumheller, AB, her daughter Wendy (Les) Doell of Crofton, BC, and her daughter Cheryl (John) Reynolds of Edmonton, AB; by her grandchildren Diana (Ray) Watson of Wayne, AB, Alisa (Fred) Dayman of Wayne, AB, Kristina Hall of Calgary, AB, Rosemarie (Dale) Moreau of Camrose, AB, Peter Madden of Vancouver, BC, Steven Madden of Victoria, BC and Andre Madden of Calgary, AB; and her great-grandchildren Christopher Venner of Edmonton, AB, Jennifer Mandziak of Nanaimo, BC, and Danielle Snideman of Camrose, AB. Maisie is also survived by 4 sisters in England, Nan Hext, Ethel Strong, Gwen Chapman, and Ruth Nock. Maisie was predeceased by her husband Elbert on October 20, 1978. Wilkinson: Mary Elizabeth passed away on January 19, 2002 at the Foothills Hospital. Mary was the first born child of Herman and Annie Praeker. Born in Strathmore, Alberta on August 6, 1916, she married Raymond Wilkinson in June of 1939. Mary graduated from nursing school in Saskatchewan where she remained and worked for a short period of time. She and her five children lived in Strathmore for several years. In 1956 Mary moved to Drumheller with her children, resuming her nursing career at the Drumheller Hospital where she retired in 1976. After retirement, she continued her involvement in the Hospital Auxiliary, the CWL, and several other volunteer organizations. Throughout her life she was a Christian in every sense of the word, always making time for others. This was always expressed by care packages of baking for everyone. Mary will be sadly missed by anyone's life she touched. From her children's perspective, she was always the pillar of strength. Mary is survived by her five children: Delores Walker of Strathmore, Pat Niblett of Tsawwassen, B.C., Richard Wilkinson (Kathy Bodor) of Calgary, Karen Banks of Calgary, and Raymond Wilkinson (Lor) of Red Deer. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister in law Marie Louise Praeker of Strathmore as well as in-laws from Eastern Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, a brother Bill Praeker, sister Viola Ramsay, and son in law Bill Niblett.
