In the early 90 years of Alice's life she worked in many occupations, starting out as a mother's helper for Hans Henningsmoen. After that she worked as a cook, waitress, maid and housecleaner. She was not afraid of work and was always busy, filling her time with crafts and other hobbies after she no longer needed to work as hard. After leaving home in her late teens, she lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Kamloops, before moving to Burnaby in the late 1960Ős. It was there that she and her aunt Berit Holgerson bought a home where they lived for over 20 years. They continued to live in Ladner until Alice and Berit's failing health led them to move to the Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller six years ago to be closer to her two remaining brothers. Music was always an important part of Alice's life. She sang in opera, in musicals, at church, on the radio, at weddings, and other special occasions. She was part of a glee club and continued singing as long as she could. Alice went through life full of ideas and enthusiasm. Although the last few years were difficult as her health failed and she was no longer able to do as much, her positive attitude kept her from being bitter and her faith kept her from being afraid of what was to come.
