Hamula: Rodney Micheal John Hamula. Rodney was born in Edmonton on February 5, 1944 and died peacefully with his loving family by his side in the Drumheller hospital on February 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife Norma, children ; sons, Bryan (Sally) and Mike (Donette) and daughters; Kathy and Marcia (Dave) McDougald, grandchildren; Andrew Fleck, Jerad Sinclair, Robyn and Alex McDougald, sister Barbara (Murray) Abel, brothers Raymond (Bev) and Reggie (Hella) and Parents Willie and Anne Hamula, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Rodney was a master electrician and has worked as an electrician for numerous companies around Alberta, BC and NWT. He was transferred to Drumheller in July 1981 working as an area manager for an electrical firm. Then in 1983 decided to start his own oilfield electrical business. The business became incorporated March 3, 1983. Rod's wife Norma and son Michael have helped him to have a very prosperous business with numerous clientele. Rodney was quite spontaneous - 5:00 a.m. waking everybody up to say we are going to Banff for a swim. Rodney enjoyed traveling especially to Costa Rica, where he made a lot of very special friends. Rodney's grandchildren were the light of his life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony's Church. Prayer Service will be held Thursday, February 14th, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Church.

Robertson: Gordon Allan. Mr. Gordon Allan "Robbie" Robertson of Rocky Mountain House passed away on January 28, 2002 at the age of 77 years. Al is survived by his loving wife Mary of Rocky Mountain House, his daughter Catherine (Nigel) Drever of Victoria, B.C., his sons Allan (Marj), Bill and Danny all of Calgary, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth, father Donald, sisters Grace and Margaret and brother Les. A service of Remembrance was held February 2 at the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Swainston:  Donald Richard Swainston born June 7, 1948 in Drumheller, AB. The family lived in Big Valley, Scapa and Leo before moving to Delia in 1951 with his father, mother and sister. His little brother was born in 1953. He started school in 1954 going through to grade 11. He finished grade 12 in Olds in 1965. in 1966 continued on to Vancouver, B.C. to start his computer training course. He graduated from Makay Technical Institute in 1968. He worked for Peter Bawden Drilling and Cheveron Standard. Moving back to Delia in 1994 to live, he worked for Megtech Computers and Jet Enterprises. On January 7, 2002 he started at PTI Service. He is pre-deceased by his father Carlos Swainston in April 1996. He leaves to mourn his mother Beverly Swainston, sister Heather and husband Arthur Van Horne, brother Danielle and fiancé. Nephew Steven and wife Keri Van Horne, Niece Kimberly and husband Kevin Bonnetta, three great nieces and one great nephew and many other family and friends. You went so suddenly, we didn't have a chance to say what we wanted to say, But know this, we all loved you very much. Somewhere a journey begins at the end of the worldly existence we know. Somewhere a path stretches over The stars and rivers of memories flow. There is no true parting with those we love, Time cannot steal the treasures That we carry in our hearts. No distance can divide; we still walk side by side. You never really know how important family is Until they are not around. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Delia Community Center with Reverend Glenn Jarvis presiding. Internment followed at the Delia Cemetery. Young: Mary Margaret (Davies) Young. November 8, 1913 - February 9, 2002. Mary was the second oldest of five children, born November 8, 1913 in Calgary, Alberta. She married Ken Young, December 5, 1939. Mary and Ken resided on the original Young homestead in the Lone Butte area, which had been in the Young family for 60 years. In 1973, Ken and Mary retired and sold the farm. At that time, they moved to Hanna. A big adjustment for them both. They did enjoy the going on of town life. The two of them enjoyed driving down to Arizona each year to escape the winter months. They also loved to camp locally and visited many friends and family. Ken passed away January 22, 1992. Mary continued to live in their home in Hanna until she moved to the Hanna Lodge. And later, to the Nursing home in Cereal and then moved to the Palliser Nursing Home in Hanna. Mary had a long fight with Alzheimer Disease. Mary is survived by her sister; Else Berke of Calgary and her family and will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Mary Edith, in 1960, Daniel Davies in 1967, her husband, Kenneth Young in 1992, brother Thomas David Davies in 1985, nephew Gerald Davey in 1990 and sister Jennie Evelyn (Davey) Evans in 2001. A memorial service will be held at The United Church in Hanna, February 14, 2002 at 1:00 p.m..
