Hamilton: MILTON. Mr. Milton MacKenzie Hamilton, beloved husband of Mrs. Lillian Hamilton of Red Deer, passed away at home, on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the age of 85 years. Milton was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 7, 1916. He attended Public and High School in Delia, Alberta and later went to Calgary Normal School and the University of Alberta. He taught school in Starland School Division in Southern Alberta from 1936 until 1940. Milton served as a Radar Technician in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He was overseas for two years. After the war, he worked as a Surveyor and Party Manager for Imperial Oil and Century Geophysical Corporation throughout the Western Provinces. In 1963, Milton married Lillian Perry. Together, they opened and ran 'Hamilton Stationers' in Fort. St. John, British Columbia from 1963 until 1984. He retired in 1984 and moved to Red Deer. Milton and Lillian spent the winter months in Mesa, Arizona from 1984 to 1998. Milton's greatest passion was driving. He bought his first car when he was 18 years old and maintained a vehicle and his driver's license until he died. Milton was an avid reader with a sharp intellect and a penetrating curiosity. He will be remembered for initiating lively political discussions with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and his memory cherished. Besides his loving wife, Milton is survived by two stepsons, George (Chris) Perry of Lacombe, Alberta and Allan (Lila) Perry of Ladysmith, British Columbia, and one stepdaughter, Sharon (Lynn) Ross of Westerose, Alberta. He is also survived by nieces, Natalie Tremblay, Renata Pomeroy and nephew, Keith Pomeroy. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles (Bud) Hamilton. A Celebration of Milton's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 Ð 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, August 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Donald Lewis officiating. Laverty: Mary Theresa.  We sadly announce the passing of our dear Aunt and Sister, Mary Theresa Laverty. Mary was born on May 27th, 1923 at Rainbow, Alberta. She passed away from us August 4th, 2002 at Hanna, Alberta. Her parents, Dan and Ada, and her brother, David, predeceased Mary. Left to mourn is Mary's close companion Andy Cernak of Hanna; her brother Terry, of Delia; her five nieces, Dorothy of Drumheller, extended family and long time close friends. Mary attended normal school and commenced her 45 year teaching career, thus touching the lives of many generations of students. She eventually obtained her B. Ed. from the University of Calgary. She retired on November 25th, 1988 in Hanna. Mary loved the Handhills, where she spent her childhood and often talked of their beauty. She was an avid baker, and loved teatime with friends, family and former students. Her gentle spirit, kindness and joy for life will be greatly missed by all. Services to be announced.
