Ohlhauser: Ethel Violet Ohlhauser passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002 at the age of 69 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves behind cherished memories by her daughter, Sharon (Henry) Hermanson and their son Randy, their 2 daughters Kim, heather (Dan) Clow, sons, Garry, Daryl and his son Kyle, sisters, Rae Schmidt, Laura (Basil) OĠRourke, brothers, Carl Maier, Jerry Maier, numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Ted Ohlhauser, parents Edward and Mildred Maier. Ethel was born on March 4, 1933 in Cranbrook B.C. On July 29, 1953 she married Ted Ohlhauser and lived in the Carbon area where she raised her family and helped with farming and growing beautiful flowers and gardens. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and caring for those she loved, especially her great grand children. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. from the Alliance Church. Spooner: Joseph Harry October 18, 1918 -August 23, 2002 Joe Spooner passed away in Calgary, with his family beside him, on Friday, August 23, 2002 at the age of 83 years. After many enjoyable years of service, Joe retired from the United Grain Growers and loved to spend his leisure time golfing, gardening, walking and keeping fit. He enjoyed his neighbors and dear friends and their continued friendship and support. Joe has left us with memories of a loving and caring husband and father, a loyal colleague and a honest and giving friend. In our hearts he can never be replaced. He will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-two years, Bella; his two sons, Brent Spooner and Grant (Dixie) Spooner; his two daughters, Ellen (Dave) Corea and Donna (Doug) Thomson; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Terry) and Chris Thomson, Heidi and Tyler Spooner, Lee and Michael Corea, Barbara, Nichelle and Darren Spooner; as well as his great grandchildren.
