Pierce: Mr. George Pierce, beloved husband of Mrs. Charlotte Annabelle Pierce (nee Crawford) passed away in Claresholm on March 31, 2002 at the age of 87 years. George was the fifth child of Richard Alfred and Ann Pierce, born west of Nanton on October 1, 1914. George and Annabelle were married on October 1, 1937 in Morrin, Alberta and celebrated 64 years of marriage this past October. They spent the first 22 years of their marriage in the village of Morrin, Alberta. In August of 1959, they moved to Claresholm where they have resided to present time. Besides his loving wife, Annabelle, George will be dearly missed by his children Sylvia (Gale) See, Claresholm; Charlie (Pat) Pierce, Drumheller; Linda (Merv) Pollock, Calgary; Brenda (Mel) Johnson, Rumsey; Ann Pierce, Calgary; Mavis (Doug) Smith, Stettler and his 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, as well as his sister Nellie Mahoney, Vancouver, B.C. and his brother Charlie (Betty) Pierce, Vernon B.C. Funeral services will be held at Leyden's Funeral Home "Chapel of Remembrance" (4079 1 Street West, Claresholm) on Thursday, April 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made in George's name to the CNIB (15 Colonel Baker Place NE, Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3). Simpson: Les Simpson formerly of Drumheller, passed away March 29, 2002 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old.
