General info

Located in the heart of the Badlands, Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club's history began at its current location in 1965 with a traditional design, offering a lush, treed oasis in this desert like area.

Longstanding plans to build a back nine were complicated by the absence of any remaining treed land. Rather than wrestle with nature, course designers decided to embrace the elements - jagged hills, ancient boulders and cacti - and create an entirely different nine. On a site with 75 million year old dinosaurs bone beds, a paleontologist was needed to help supervise construction, which included completely reconfiguring the 11th hole because of possible dinosaur skeletons buried in the hillside. The opening of the back nine in 1996 is quintessential Canadian Badlands. Ravines jut out from all sides, elevation changes are frequent and fairways are an unpredictable connection of green patches. Tee boxes are mounted above cliffs, from which your ball must land on the fairway or fall mercy to a coulee.

With the view and challenges unmatched anywhere else in Alberta, playing at Dinosaur Trail Golf & CC is a must when visiting Drumheller. Discover the Trail and Golf in the Footprints of Dinosaurs at the Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club!
